If we know anything about Tinsley Mortimer, it’s that she really, really loves living in a hotel. Who wouldn’t? 24/7 room service is the ultimate perk! But after doing so for several years, The Real Housewives of New York City socialite recently revealed to BravoTV.com that she was ready for a change.
“I love living in this hotel and I, like, cannot leave and I love it and don’t want to move — but I wanted it this time to feel more like home,” she told us during a tour of her newly redesigned space. “Because it’s hard to live in an environment that’s not, like, your style, so it’s just really nice the hotel let me move stuff to make it feel more like me.” (Want to see Tinsley’s new digs? What did that stuff include? Well, she brought in several stunning furniture items “that are family pieces or pieces from my former marriage.” Ultimately, her goal was, “just to make it feel more like me, more cozy, more my style.”
From her former marriage’s apartment came a fuchsia-hued antique chest and two Louis XVI chairs reupholstered with blue velvet seats — both of which Tinsley wanted to blend seamlessly with the hotel’s décor. “I like to mix traditional pieces with modern pieces,” she said, adding, “I wanted to incorporate pieces that they had, I didn’t want to fully decorate this place.”
Family pieces came in the form of artwork, an old photograph of baby Tinsley (complete with hair bows!), and an antique clock, which definitely warm up the modern hotel room’s vibe. To see all the details — from the Murphy bed to Tinsley’s many colorful throw pillows — watch the video above!
