Bethenny Frankel Has a Major Problem With Whole Foods: Hear Her Cringeworthy Tale
The Real Housewives of New York City alum is very annoyed after a moldy mozzarella fiasco.
Bethenny Frankel is a bonafide foodie, in case you didn't already know it. When she likes a dish or a restaurant, The Real Housewives of New York City alum is quick to sing its praises. (For instance, she once stated that a red-velvet cupcake is "better than most sex.") Likewise, the Skinnygirl mogul is not afraid to express herself when a particular food item is disappointing — and we're not just talking about her distaste for avocado-toast trucks and broken ice cream cones.
In a recent Instagram Story, Bethenny let loose in a rant against Whole Foods after she found moldy cheese in her shopping bags. First, the New York mama explained that she typically gets her groceries from Trader Joe's (as she's made clear before), spending about $100 to fill her household with food.
However, she recently found herself popping into Whole Foods when she was in Tribeca. "And that's when you're like, I'm getting ripped off, but it's OK, because it was convenient, whatever," Bethenny said. But this shopping trip was most definitely not OK.
Bethenny picked up shredded mozzarella, she later explained, for her daughter and a friend to have a D.I.Y. pizza night. And when she brought the cheese home, she found that it was — gulp — covered in a bluish tint. Clearly, this did not go over well. "I swear to you, I'd rather waste money on a diamond necklace than $5 on moldy cheese at Whole Foods," she said. "So, I'm annoyed today. Do you feel me or no?"
Imitating the famous line from Mommie Dearest, she growled: "No more wire hangers in this closet, ever! No moldy mozzarella ever in this closet!"
And, don't you worry: Bethenny made it clear that she's going to return that cheese. This drama is not over yet!
