Charrisse: You Can't Take This Crew Anywhere Without Problems Arising
Charrisse gives us deets on her future rap career and says that it was poor etiquette for the ladies to show up to her party empty-handed.
Bravotv.com: How do you feel about Eddie not being able to attend the party?
Charrisse Jackson Jordan: It was very disappointing that Eddie was a no-show for the party. But I really didn't expect him to come as he didn't want to be involved in all this. However, deep down inside I was hoping he would sneak in and show his support. After-all, this is a milestone for me. Nothing could ever stop me from being present for for a special celebration such as this for someone that I love. Clearly, his love for me just isn't that strong.
Bravotv.com: Tell us about learning l’chaim from Katie Rost and her modeling pointers. Do you still use them to feel like Naomi Campbell? Why the pictures for your party?
CJJ: Learning the pronunciation of I'chaim from Katie was priceless. I still say it whenever I can. Katie gave me some really good modeling techniques. She really should consider opening up her own modeling agency. After instructions from the pro I thought I was Naomi Campbell, but after looking at the footage...not so much!
I took the photos because I feel great at 50 and its a symbolic time in my life that I want to cherish and felt the photoshoot would be a fun way to do it. My son wanted to know how much he could spend on my birthday gift. I told him a photo with him and Skylar would be worth more than anything he could ever buy me.
I've always been uncomfortable taking photos solo because I feel awkward when the focus is solely on me. I was truly happy my model friend came to my rescue. For a moment there she was so into it I think she forgot it was my shoot. :)
Bravotv.com: Tell us about the party! Can you give us more background your rapper days? Why did you decide to bring this talent out for your 50th? It was fabulous!
CJJ: My party superseded my expectations. It was almost like a surprise party that I gave myself. I allowed Andre Wells the Event Planner Extraordinaire to basically work his magic and he did. When I walked into the room I really had no idea what to expect. I gave Andre an idea of what I wanted, my credit card, and he delivered. I loved every single moment of this day. My dad and family members all came from various states to celebrate with me so I knew it was going to be a good time to be had. I wish I could re-live this day over and over again.
I was totally caught off guard when Brynee asked me to do my rap from high school. While in Bethany I was trying to ease up an intense moment by saying the rap as much as I could remember. I wrote it when I was 16 and forgot most of it. To my surprise it was a hit and everyone loved it. I've been working on a rap about my girls on the RHOP just for fun. I can't wait to get a moment to finish it.
Bravotv.com: What do you think about the confrontation between the ladies now that you were able to see it?
CJJ: Though I asked the ladies not to bring drama to my party, I knew that would be impossible. I am just glad things didn't get out of control and they were able to put the drama on pause for yet another time. Geez! You can't take this crew anywhere without a problem arising. But, it didn't interfere with The Lady of The Day enjoying her moment and having an amazing time. And for that alone I am truly grateful.
I know I said not to bring drama to my party, but I didn't say not to bring a GIFT!! Hmmm, I wonder what the rule of etiquette is on this?! Obviously, I know the answer but clearly my friends missed that chapter. If I had a cash bar people would've had a LOT to say about that. No one said a word about coming empty handed. A special thanks to Ashley Darby for being the only one to come with gift in tow. YAAAAS! Dom Perignon...My kind of girl.
It was great to just dance and laugh with the girls. We do know how to have a good time when we set aside the little stuff. These are the moments I look forward to.
