Ashley Darby Shows What Baking Is *Really* Like with a Toddler
The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member and her son set out to bake a birthday cake, and things got adorably messy.
This year has been filled with special moments for Ashley Darby and her family. On January 14, The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member captured her youngest son Dylan's first steps on camera. The tot took a couple of wobbly strides towards her as she proudly cheered him on. Then, on March 2, the family marked another milestone: Dylan's first birthday.
For the occasion, Ashley and her eldest son, Dean, took to the kitchen to bake a cake. The cake-making process proved to be a messy affair, which the RHOP mom shared in a March 2 Instagram Story. "Baking with a toddler," Ashley captioned a snapshot of Dean, adding laughing-crying emojis.
In the photo, Dean was sitting on the kitchen counter next to a disastrous, batter-covered mixer. Cake remnants could be found all over the countertop, crusted on Tupperware, and, of course, on Dean's hands and clothes.
In a subsequent Instagram Story, Ashley sang "Happy Birthday" to Dylan while she held him in the kitchen. Once she finished, Dean couldn't contain his excitement for dessert. "I want the cake," he said. "I want to get into that."
To add to the memorable day, Ashley shared a heartwarming video on Instagram filled with pictures of Dylan. "Happy 1st birthday to my sweet boy Dylan," she wrote. "The past 2.5 years of my life have been purely magical because I get to call myself the mother of two angels."
