Lisa Barlow Reveals She Spends $60K Per Year on Glam: "My Makeup Artist Is on Retainer"
The RHOSLC cast member has her makeup done daily, even when she's heading "to the grocery store."
In Season 4, Episode 4 of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, which aired on September 26, the ladies gathered before the evening as Whitney Rose made an announcement: the crew would be doing a "drag-inspired makeup competition" later in the evening and their host at the Trixie Motel, drag star Trixie Mattell, would be the judge.
While Whitney called the competition a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," some of the ladies weren't too pleased. "Take our makeup off?" Angie Katsanevas asked, to which Whitney responded, "Yup! Cancel your glam."
"No...I flew glam in!" Lisa Barlow immediately retorted, speaking about her hair and makeup team. "The one thing I love control over is the way I look and...I have none of that."
After the ladies dispersed, Lisa returned to her room to express her discontent to her husband, John Barlow, on the phone, speaking more about her glam situation and what it meant to her.
Lisa Barlow revealed how much she spends on glam every year
While talking to John, Lisa shared how she flew her makeup artist, Morgan Fay, to the Palm Springs locale and further shared in a confessional how important her team was to her.
"I spend on average $60,000 a year on glam. I get my makeup done daily. My makeup artist is on retainer," Lisa revealed. "It's not just when I'm on girls' trips, it's not when I'm hanging out — it's for me to go to the grocery store."
Lisa then confided in a producer about the situation, also calling Meredith Marks to her room for support.
"I think Trixie is amazing...it has nothing to do with Trixie," Lisa shared. "I paid Morgan $2,500 to be here plus her flights like...I'm not doing it. I like to look a certain way when I'm out in public."
Lisa eventually participated in the game — with a little bit of help from Morgan.
"I'm a team player so of course I'm gonna participate in this activity...but it doesn't mean my glam isn't gonna be on stand-by," Lisa shared in a confessional.
