Where Are They Now: Top Chef's Stephanie Cmar

Stephanie Cmar's career has had many iterations. As she reveals in the clip above, the Bravo's Top Chef All-Star has operated a donut pop-up, served as the executive chef at a restaurant, and is now a private chef. She even has her own weekly cooking show on IG TV. But, does the Boston resident have any plans to open a restaurant of her own?

How to Watch

Watch Top Chef on Bravo and next day on Peacock.

When chatting with BravoTV.com prior to the Season 17 finale, Stephanie weighed in on that. In short: Don't hold your breath.

"Oh my sweet, I don't think so. I do not think so," she said. "I worked in restaurants for 13 to 15 years ... But I get really claustrophobic in thinking that I have to be in the same place every day ... I don't like that." She added: "And I really hate being told what to do."

In fact, Stephanie says she'd be likelier to open a store than a restaurant. "[My husband] David and I joke about buying a convenience store because a lot of those are for sale in our neighborhood now," she said. "And I'm like, yeah, why not? We'll just get a little convenience store. That'll be cute."

And in the meantime, Stephanie will stick to patronizing — if not hanging her name on — eateries. "There's just so many so many people that do restaurants incredibly well," she said. "And I'm like let's just eat at them, we'll go out to eat, we'll support them. And you know, I'll just kind of forge my own path."
