Friend: we still on for tonite?

You: ughhh i’m soooo sorry but I’m rly not feeling well and i totally forgot that i have to go into work early tmrw for a dumb meeting, do you mind if we reschedule?

Friend: okay, np

You: thanks, talk soon!

[puts on pajamas, grabs cozy blanket, pulls dog onto couch for some serious snuggle times]

You (to dog): Hehehe, she’s such a sucker. Now we can hang out just you and meeeeeeee! (Gives dog a million kisses.)

If you have ever had this text message conversation, you are not alone. A new survey from LINK AKC reveals that more than 50% of dog owners will flake on their friends in order to hang out with their pupper instead.

"People consider their dogs members of their family and are looking for ways to connect and interact with them on a deeper level," said LINK AKC chief marketing officer Herbie Calves. And since relationships with other humans can be difficult, the majority of pet owners prefer to while away the hours with their pup, whom 90% say “make them a better person.” Aww!

In honor of this revelation, here are a handful of photos celebrating the cuddliest pupperooskis around. If they don’t make you wanna bail on your friends… nothing will.

Oh no! This bed is too comfy! Guess I’m stuck here. 😴😴😴 #comfydog
