Craig Conover Shares “Awesome” New Details About His Home Renovation: “This Is Sick”

For Craig Conover, the years-long journey to building his dream home has come with quite a few challenges. 

During Season 7 of Southern Charm, Craig explained in an interview, “A plumber came for a routine checkup, and there was a broken pipe. Asbestos got blown all over my house, and now I cannot live there until the asbestos is gone.” After temporarily moving in with Austen Kroll until the issue was resolved, Craig shared on the show’s Season 8 premiere, “I am finally back into my house, my real house.” 

Once he got settled back in his home, Craig wasted no time starting a gut renovation. As he previously explained to BravoTV.com, just some of the major changes to his house included turning his original sewing room into a spacious kitchen and transforming his former roommate’s bedroom into a “studio/office.” More recently, Craig revealed that his pool and porch are now complete, and both look incredibly serene. 

While Craig has continued to share updates on his home, the video above shares a new look at his renovation process.

In the clip, which is a first look at the Season 9 premiere of Southern Charm, Craig tells his girlfriend, Paige DeSorbo, that the construction happening in the house was “exciting because every time we go downstairs, there’s something new.”

Later in the video, Craig declares that his new stairs are “so much nicer than they were” and that his pool, which was being built at the time, was already “so awesome.”

“Baby, this is sick,” he says to Paige as he checks out the pool. “It looks so big,” she replies.

In an interview, Craig opens up about why the renovation is so meaningful to him. 

“When me and Paige first started to date, the house was still in shambles,” he says. “I think this house is finally to the level where I can start to look at the future, and the future of me and Paige’s relationship.”

Although the house was still in progress at the time, Craig explains to Paige, “It really feels like a home for the first time since I lived here.”
