So this is a little combo blog from last episode and this episode. I was out of town for the night that everything went down at the club with Vawn and Africa. To sum it up, I am starting to see Emily get a feel for what Vawn is really all about. The conversation on her deck gave her some one-on-one time and gave him a chance to be straight-forward and her to actually hear it from the horse’s mouth.
Anyway, when we start off this episode, you get to see me doing the damn thing on the football field. I really do love sports and they are my getaway from all the drama that happens in my life. Even though it is just a local flag league, I still get REALLY competitive. I can't help it. But with that being said, I think that was the only game that we won because our team likes to go out Saturday night before our Sunday morning games, thus resulting in a really hungover football team. But what can you do.
I guess y’all also got a chance to hear what my FIRST name is. Yes, it is Herbert. Herbert Tribble Reese. I have always gone by Tribble and I have grown into it. Herbert, ehhh, not so much. So the secret is out.
I was excited Emily came to the game with Chris. Apparently she was the good luck charm. We also got to talk about Vawn’s seminar that is coming up. Definitely going to be an interesting event now that he is going to include men AND women to be in the audience.
Tribble you Stick to your beliefs & convictions...What ever Lucky Lady lands you wil be VERY Fortunate to have you...Vawn should have apologized to you...It was a open forum, what? he couldn't take getting called out...as for Africa, she will get burnt by Vawn...she is acting like a school girl...P.S. I personally think you could have taken Vawn...
Tribble, you're awesome! Better than me because I def would not have apologized to the likes of Vawn. But you are a true man, unlike Vawn and those busted dudes on his podium lol. Let's be honest, what respectable women would want any of those guys.
tribblereese I am proud to say we are from the same good ol' state of Alabama! Yeah, yeah so you shouldn't have stepped up to the front of the room. Mainly because it gives people the chance to focus on that act rather than what you had to say. However, anyone who knows how to chew up the meat and spit out the bone will see that you are a man of character, a breath of fresh air and unfortunately a rarity among our generation of men. In my opinion, the fact that you "ruined" Vawn's event is trivial. The meaningful take-away was the loyalty and sincerity you demonstrated in standing up for your friend. Congrats on your success and don't lose sight in the future of the man you are showing the world you are now : )
I don't think you own him a nothing you did not touched him, I hope you find the right girl a good loyal girl that deserves you. God Bless You.
It was really cool that you apologized to Vawn, but in all honesty, he REALLY owes you an apology as well. He was really wrong in that situation.
You are definitely a good guy. No doubt about that. As for the event, the moment you got up and left your seat to go up front-- something that no one else in the entire room did nor had to do to express their opinions/views-- you were wrong. Vawn was not wrong for trying to restore order to his event. So yes, Africa was correct. You were out-of-line. Not for what you had to say, but strictly for your actions. You were lucky that out of respect for the friendship or whatever you have with Vawn, he didn't have you carted out by security. That is what usually happens when a stranger tries to pull what you did. So please-- just stick to your apology, recognize you were in the wrong, and you were also wrong for putting your hands on Vawn after he took the mic. He did not hit you, shove you, nothing. You were wrong as two left feet. Anyone trying to make the debacle about what you had to say is off. Vawn didn't care about that. He didn't care the last time you said it, he didn't care when Emily said it, it was fine that you defended her position with your own position. All of that was fine. The only thing with what you said that was not fine was you calling one of his panelists Scum because you didn't agree with his point of view. He's not someone I would date, but I wouldn't call him out his name. Vawn didn't call you out your name before things got crazy. None of the guys on the panel called you out your name. So let's keep everything in perspective. That's the only way you can truly grow from the experience. I hope you do because that will only add to how decent and special of a guy you are. Stay positive and stay grounded. Thanks for sharing you with all of us. :-)
I was SOOOO happy to hear a real man take the mike and speak...that man was you Trib. Great job , love me some Trib!!!
Tribble, you are a breath of fresh air on a show full of posers and fools. Thank God reality TV finally found a man with morals and values. Women love you and you respect everyone. You stood up for Emily and didn't act like a coward like Vawn when he hit you when you were turned away from him. Thank you for being you and setting a good example. And as the true gentlemen you are, you apologized even thought the fight was Vawn's fault. Maybe Vawn forgot to take his antipsychotic meds that day.
You are a classy guy and to stoop to Vawn's level of ignorance does a great injustice for you. You are so much better than Vawn- Own iyour classiness - be careful of Vawn- because we all know he likes to sucker punch people- its the signs of a true punk!!!
It's refreshing to see a young man with your morals and healthy ideas about relationships. It is no surprise that you did not end up with Africa. She obviously only attracts men with low self-esteem, such as herself. Stay as your parents raised you, and you will go far.
You are adorable. I am considering kidnapping you, taking you home, setting you on a stool in a sunny corner, and feeding you candy. Sigh......if I were only 20 yrs. younger. LOL
You dodged a bullet, Tribble, when Africa picked "Yawn"...she is a beautiful woman, but obviously wants to be treated like crap. Hang in there. The right girl will come along and she will be beautiful and smart and she will be looking for someone honest, sweet and a gentleman, like you.
Hey Tribble (Herbert) :-)
I'm glad fate had it that you did not start dating Africa. You, and all of us, ended up learning a lot about Africa. Personally, it would have been a no-brainer for me if I was lucky enough to have a choice and you were one of my options. Oh yeah baby. You are hot and to bad you're too young for me because I might have to come to Atlanta for some Tribble. lol.
You were out of line to take over the show but I didn't mind at all. I wish you could have said what needs to be said out loud in front of the same audience he is shoveling that BS to. Your motives were quite good, you just did not succeed in playing it out. Can't blame Vawn for getting real mad. Now instead of just a dog, we can call him a mad dog. So be it. I've said it somewhere in the blogs that Vawn doesn't have the guts to have a real one-on-one relationship that would require some accountability, loyalty, real intimacy and real honesty. He's too afraid really for those who don't know. Real feelings are something he runs from and instead of facing them he instead creates bogus philosophy to live by that no one who is growing and mentally alert, and has any self-respect would even consider adhering to. He's a little boy, like Alex is a little girl and they should both go play in the same sandbox.
Too bad Africa had to get her feelings hurt, but this is how we learn. And even though none of us are perfect, including you, I'd chose you any day of the week you little heart throb. :-) Like older women? Yes, a cougar here.
I am sure you have not lost any sleep over Africa "picking" Vawn over you. She clearly does not like gentlemen. She is also not that bright and annoying with her antics and gibberish talk....
She likes the insecure guy who "acts" like he's the man and needs constant attention ( I am sure because of his insecurities) .....oh and wears the spiky back back packs that all the kids are wearing these days....and let's not forget she loves the guy who wears his sunglasses at night and in "da" club...My guess is so that he can get away with lying to everyone's face....
Don't change...there aren't many men left out there that value a monogamous relationship and family anymore....
Do I think you were out of line for going to the front, taking a mic and almost taking over Vawn's ridiculous event? Absolutely but there's no point in writing about it because you already admitted you were wrong in your blog. Good job. That is why I like you more than the rest of the cast. When all of this was going on I was thinking Tribble is not a fighter.... and that's not a bad thing. I know how it is to be in open discussion with a room full of people with ridiculous opinions. It gets under your skin! The best thing to do is just leave, especially since you don't have to date or associate with any of them. Now you see that Africa may not be the type of woman you thought you wanted but maybe you should consider dating Emily. At least she has some type of standards and respect for herself.
I really related to Africa at the beginning of the season, but she disappoints me more and more as I watch her fall victim to Vawn's obvious schemes, and treat you rudely. She's clueless!
I think you are a gentleman. Vawn is a smooth operator some women like that type. I like your type!!!
Tribble, you are a true gentleman and I wish for more men like you because Vawn is a disgrace and I would rather be alone than to deal with a jerk like him. You represented for real men and for women and you should not apologize for that.
You are a real southern man with manners and respect. I'm glad you stood up and spoke you peace because it was the only think I could stomach at Vawn's event.
I'm surprised you didn't press charges against Vawn who snatched the mike, charged towards you, smacked your head, and then made threatening claims regarding if he saw you again. I really hope that if it isn't the law, something makes Vawn see how childish he is and wrong he treats women.
Just when I thought you couldn't get any hotter! You are on FIRE!!! Thanks for defending women's honor like a true gentleman!
I believe Vawn called this a town meeting. In our town, if you attend an "open" meeting (rather than a closed executive session), you are entitled to speak and there is no time limit. Vawn named the event a "Town Meeting", that gave the impression that he wanted your opinion. He just didn't like that you were calling him out on his bad behavior. I mean "smooth", are you kidding me?? He was disgusting and they simply believe that women should take their crap. I may be the only one on this blog that appreciates that you stood up for what you thought was right and you were willing to go head to head with the egotistical Vawn. I for one will not be buying his book. I would venture to guess that most women will not buy it.
Africa was a huge disappointment, she struck out at anyone that didn't agree with "her man". Bringing up the race card and insulting someones occupation by calling him a "rent a cop", was wrong, wrong, wrong.
bravoliscious If you read the other comments, you will see that you are not the only one who appreciated Tribble standing up for what is honorable!
Hot stuff!! YOU have NOTHING to apologize for!!! You have every right to your own opinion and people were expressing their own opinions- as someone else said- it was a DIALOGUE, not a lecture event. Anyhow, it's obvious that Vawn freaked out because there were women (and men?) agreeing with what you had to say and Vawn can't have that!!! he can't stand the idea of a great looking REAL man speaking the TRUTH at his event and now he looks like the snake-oil salesman that he is- slimy, slick, but childish. All he had to do was let you finish your point, but he is so ego driven that he couldn't allow it. You are the better man, my friend, and not only the better man, but the only man between the 2 of you. Vawn acts like a child, temper tantrums and all. Vawn should have been arrested for assault in my book. He hit you!! I get why you didn't go down that road and just left- you are a true gentleman and the best kind of man.
You mentioned the discussion between Vawn and Africa at the rehearsal and I'm soooo glad you pointed out that Vawn turned the tables on her and she let him!! That was so creepy to watch. I disagree with you that he is smooth- he is simply slimy. But there Africa is- still running behind him no matter what he does, panting like a dog in heat. Good for her- let her go on now and get her heart stomped on- we all know that's where this is headed. A girl can only take so much of that BS and she will get it eventually. For now, Africa deserves whatever comes her way- especially since she went right down the racist road- isn't that the typical thing to say when you have no real defense? And why she wants to defend that a**hole is beyond me!! I WISH the girl in the blue dress had shown up that night! what would Africa be saying now? hee-hee
i will miss seeing you every week- can't wait for the show to return!. Till then- see you on twitter!
You have a good head on your shoulders. I think it is nice you were trying to protect Emily, though you could have done it from the audience. I am glad you apologized for losing your cool at the event. Everyone makes mistakes. I am glad you gave your opinion though. Your morals are refreshing! I agree that Vawn was trying to manipulate Africa in the studio, and it TOTALLY worked!! AHH!!! My sister is in a relationship with a manipulator and I can't stand it!!! How can Africa fall for that? Meanwhile... whoever gets to date Tribble one day is a lucky lady! :) Good luck sir.
If I am not mistaken, Emily can defend herself and I think that her behavior...using profanity in a public form was tasteless and negated her rationale. YOU on the other hand displayed boorish behavior by attempting to hijack someone else's meeting. Under the auspices of defending Emily, you lost your credibility and forever damaged yourself. If I were your employer, I would have misgivings about your ability to control yourself. Furthermore, to snatch the mike from Vawn was violent and you are lucky that you and Vawn did not engage in a physical altercation because if it were me, I would have relished blacking your eye.
It was an open forum! If he were one of my employees I would have patted him on the back for a job well done!!
You obviously don't work in a business environment because etiquette dictates that a guest follow certain rules including not insulting the host(s), not snatching a microphone; and not behaving disrespectful to the other guests by creating an atmosphere of panic and hostility. Furthermore, has it occurred that Tribble was threatened by Vawn's appeal to Emily? Usually, we run from things or people we find disdainful, not to them. Tribble was incredulous by Emily’s dressing up for Vawn's event and commented to that fact. Face it, I think that Emily Protests' too much.
@Kim20 @promotepeace Jeez, girl....I have been in business for over 30 years and when you have a forum, you let folks speak their mind - you do NOT run up and snatch the mik rout of their hand because they say something you don't like.... Glad I am retired and do not have someone like you to deal with....get a grip!!! JEEZ....oh, I said that already, but JEEZ girl, get a grip! For real....
Kim20 Once again, it was an open forum, which means that EVERYONE had a right to speak there and share their views.
Furthermore, if you watched the episode, Tribble didn't grab the mic from Vawn...Vawn snatched the mic from Tribble, and then proceeded to keep going after Tribble and pushed him.
Vawn was the aggressor in the situation...NOT Tribble, and he was upset because Tribble didn't share his viewpoint and was outspoken about that. He maybe shouldn't have just gone up to speak the way he did, but he didn't really do anything wrong.
Lastly, it's a big exaggeration to say that "lost credibility" or "forever damaged himself." That's absolutely ridiculous and silly, and really overblowing things.
If anything, Vawn looks more like an ass for not being able to allow for other people to have an opinion and to express it.
I totally agree with you. The man cannot take it when someone does not agree with his point of view. I do respect Tribble and he is man enough to realize that people can agree to disagree.
It does take a man to admit he was wrong.
LOL!!! I have been self employed since 1996! I'd like to think I know a thing or two about employees. #1 It is hard to find trustworthy & honest people. What they do outside of my business is their business! Tribble didn't hurt anyone nor did he lie, cheat or steal. Why in God's name would his employer fire him for speaking his mind at an open forum on his own time? Seems to me you are the one who is oblivious as to what goes on in a working environment!
Based upon your statements, you are either a friend of Tribble or you are delusional by ascribing characteristics to someone with whom you have no dyadic relationship. Furthermore, I am speaking about the behavior, not the content of the speech. Had you met Ted Bundy, you would have made the same premature judgments and we know where that would have lead.
I think someone has some feelings for Emily thathe's not 'fessing up to. Lucky Girl.
Yes, you were wrong to stand up front and take the mike, and it's good that you will admit it.
I love watching you!!! I have sooooo much respect for you after standing up to Vawn and his ignorant band of followers. I know that a lot of men think like you, but they don't want to speak up because they're scared of getting "picked" on by their "boys". I love strong fine men that can stand up for what he believes in against everybody else. I think Africa is beautiful, talented, and intelligent. However, to say you were the aggressor is very ignorant to me. I also didn't like how she said that you guys should have just sat down and kept quiet. It was an event to get people opinions for that stupid book. I think maybe she needs to speak up more, and hopefully she will realize that Vawn is a piece of ****.
Herbert, I really don’t understand why you and Emily even attended Vawn’s event. You already know you don’t agree with his perception of dating, relationships and women. Yet you go with a clip on your shoulder looking for a dog fight. You knew things would be said that you don’t agree with, yet you still felt the need to not only get on the mic (which I commend you for speaking a difference of opinion) but you didn’t know when your time was up. You decide you wanted command of the audience and that this was now your event. One thing for sure is Vawn is a dog, but when heated he becomes a bulldog and your actions turned him into a bulldog and then he wanted to kick some ass. One thing is you don’t have to like Vawn nor support anything that he is doing but one should respect others opinions as you want others to respect yours. Your little barking dog Emily went dressed to please ‘Vawn’ (it was said while she was getting dressed for the event), what the hell was that all about. Some women can admit they don’t like the rule but hate to admit they are willing to play the game…check your girl….lol
There was no time limit given and the fact is that the so called men on that panel were being very rude to Emily and the fact is the Tribble went up there got a mic and waited until Vawn was done speaking before he started speaking. Vawn took things the wrong direction by allowing the "boys" on his panel to start talking over Tribble and then tried to shut up Tribble when he called that boy smooth out.
Tribble you are a stand up man and I give props to your parents for raising a man with values. You are an inspiration and give hope that there are men out there that still hold those vaules.
Tribble, I agree with you 100% about Vawn. Vawn is clearly a womanizer. The only thing is that you went about it the wrong way. You can't go to somebody's event and takeover. I in no way agree with the violence.
Very well put my friend. Once again, I totally appreciate where you were coming from and your viewpoints and assessment on things. I'm so glad you brought up the fact that Vawn turned the tables on Africa and tried to act like she was the one who was at fault because he really knew he messed up and was in the wrong.
I'm also glad that you acknowledged that your approach to addressing Vawn and the other guy's comments could have been better, although I pretty much feel that Vawn that was in the wrong and quickly became defensive and aggressive towards you by trying to prevent you from finishing what you had to say.
I'm glad you didn't punk out, but held your ground against Vawn when he got aggressive with you, and I think you if things ever come to blows between you two, you should let him have it.
I think you have much heart and sincerity, and thankfully there are still men out there like you who are willing to speak up and go against the grain and be better. It was great to hear you say what you did in response to that "Smooth" guy claiming that all men will cheat. That's a bunch of a BS, and obviously as you so put it, it's about making a decision NOT to. EVERYONE has a choice, and everyone is responsible for their choices and actions.
How do you spell a REAL MAN? T-R-I-B-B-L-E!!!! Many may claim it, but you represent the TRUE meaning of a real man! You're parents should be so proud that you've always valued the greatness they've instilled in you! By the way, you have NOTHING to apologize for, because you did nothing wrong! But we can't expect anything less, coming from a REAL MAN, right?!
You're the type of man that a mother is proud to call "son," a man a sibling is proud to say, "That's MY brother," a man who a person is proud to say, "That's my friend," and a man who's father is HONORED to have carry their last name! What more can I say, except for, YOU'RE THE BEST! Tribble, you are what a REAL MAN stands for, so please, don't ever change!
You know Tribble that just shows what kind of man you are youre a real sweetheart and you apologized that takes a real man to do that. Im happy that you did apologized but you are also owed an apology from Vawn and that ratchet Africa she threw you and Emily under the bus and it was wrong. You keep your head up and keep being a southern gentlemen good luck to you.
I really don't think you have any reason to apologize! Everyone seemed to be voicing their opinion. Just because you didn't agree with Vawn he wanted to tear you up! He's a complete idiot! I was rooting for you! Nothing more attractive than a man that stands up for a woman! In this case "women."
