The Vanderpump Rules cast member said the “awkward” moment came during BravoCon 2022.

Vanderpump Rules’ Tom Schwartz is reflecting on an admittedly “awkward” moment from BravoCon 2022 — specifically, when James Kennedy called out the romance rumors involving Tom and Raquel Leviss during Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

“I kind of shut down,” Tom told Page Six of the moment. “I kind of just put my head down and clicked my heels together and was hoping I could disappear.”

James made the remarks — referencing rumors about Raquel and Tom “making out” at Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’ August wedding in Mexico — during a WWHL game of “Relationship Roundup” after Andy asked Raquel if, post-breakup, she was ever “nervous” about James and Lala Kent “possibly reigniting things.”

Raquel responded, “I don’t know, for some reason I kind of ship the idea of James and Lala.” James’ response? “Now she says that, after she’s, like, made out with Peter [Madrigal] and Schwartz. Like, cool.”

At the time, Tom reacted by attempting to shield his face as he laughed. “I just rode it out, and you’ll see how it plays out this season,” he told Page Six. “There’s a build up to it, and there’s a lot of fallout afterwards. I’m still processing it.”

Tom offered up more teases about Vanderpump Rules’ upcoming Season 10 while at BravoCon 2022, which came just days after he and his ex-wife, Katie Maloney, finalized their divorce. “It’s been an emotional roller coaster,” he said of the breakup, set to play out on the new season. “I feel like for the first few months I was a sad sack of s--t. And I think I’m guilty of indulging in those feelings a little bit.”

“I turned emo for a while,” he added. “I was kind of wallowing in my own pity party.”

Thankfully, Tom and Katie have both said they’re now doing well.
