On any given year, it's unlikely Beyoncé would celebrate her birthday with a supermarket sheet cake. But the one prepared in honor of her 36th — wait for it, you knew it was coming — totally takes the cake.
In Philadelphia over the weekend to watch her husband headline at the Made in America Festival, her team reached out to local bakery Cake Life Bake Shop to request a geode-style cake in bee colors of yellow and black.
Cake Life took it from there, and made this stunning, three-tiered honey lavender creation, topped with a gold crown that looks like the one she wore while performing at last year's Grammys.
The genius bakers also made ornate cookies shaped like a crown and beehive, as well as two smaller cakes — all gorgeous.
The shop's co-owner Lily Fischer, a big Bey fan, told Philadelphia Magazine that the treats cost a "pretty penny," but she wouldn't say exactly how pretty.
Expensive as they must have been, the geode was still made of candy after all. So that probably leaves it far shy, value wise, of the record-holding, real-diamond adorned cake created for a birthday/engagement party in the United Arab Emirates that was valued at $75 million.
Maybe next year, Bey? Or hey, for those of us playing along at home — there's always a chance to eat a slice of Prince William and Kate Middleton's royal fruitcake for a mere $10,000 or so.
