Where does Easter fall on the holiday spirit spectrum? Below Christmas and Thanksgiving, certainly, but probably above Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day, which seem to be more fleeting and singular (and not worthy of a household full of decor). Given that it’s been a full three months since we took down all those Christmas decorations, let’s face it—we’re all sort of pining for a garland to swathe our mantles in, or an egg-filled lantern to place on a side table.
But here’s the thing with any holiday décor—it can be, well, um, a bit tacky. Garish, one might even say. And given Easter’s mascots (Bunnies! Eggs! Chicks!), the decorations that go with the celebration tend to be bright and very, very sparkly. Which is great if that’s your jam, but I’m someone who prefers to find a few sedately spirited items that fit in with the permanent decor scheme of my home—meaning, a wooden bunny-shaped wreath for my front door or a moss bunny figurine that will look adorable on a book shelf. These trinkets will add just the right amount of holiday spirit to your home, without leaving a trail of glitter when it’s all packed up at the end of the month.
