Joe Biden officiated a same-sex wedding at his residence on Monday.
The vice-president married two White House staffers, tweeting out a photo of the ceremony, captioning it: “proud to marry Brian and Joe at my house. Couldn't be happier, two longtime White House staffers, two great guys.”
His wife Jill Biden replied, “love is love!”
According to a statement, the grooms are Brian Mosteller and Joe Mahshie, and they asked their friend Joe to marry them. The VP then applied for a temporary certification from the District of Columbia. Brian is the director of Oval Office operations, Joe is a trip coordinator for Michelle Obama.
It was the first wedding the VP ever officiated.
