Hummus, Cake—Yes, Cake!—and More Foods You Didn't Know You Could Make in an Instant Pot

Cakes and pies and chicken feet, oh my!

Sorry, America—like CrossFit and Scientology, it looks like the Instant Pot cult is here for good. The ever-growing legion of converts love the magical appliance's versatility and its ease of use, whipping up fork-tender shredded chicken or beef stew that tastes like it was simmered for hours. Beyond these basics, however, the Instant Pot can make an endless array of uber-creative dishes, as evidenced by these #instantpot posts:

1. Hummus

Homemade hummus tastes so much better than the stuff you get in the supermarket. Instant Pot to the rescue! Make a batch using dried chickpeas for the freshest, healthiest results.

2. Quinoa Breakfast Bowls

Yes, the Instant Pot can take on breakfast, too. Make a big batch ahead of time and store it in individual portions for the week. This filling vegan option (made with coconut milk) is a great alternative to boring oatmeal.

3. Chocolate Lava Cake

Chocolate cake in the Instant Pot? Truly, there's nothing this appliance can't do. This cake even has that deliciously gooey molten chocolate center, too.

4. Lasagna Lentil Soup

This versatile appliance can cook up pasta, too. For a twist on classic lasagna, try this hearty lasagna soup. Bonus: It's vegan.

5. Banoffee Pie

First, cake; and now a pie? Banoffee pie (a combination of banana and toffee) is a staple in the United Kingdom and woefully underrepresented here, but the Instant Pot Nation can now make it an American special.

6. Vegan Cauliflower Queso

If cheese was one of your great loves but you've been forced to break up, this faux-cheese queso made with cauliflower can make you feel like you've been reunited.

7. Chicken Foot Broth

Clearly, this one isn't for the faint of heart. Try it as a gelatin-rich alternative to bone broth. (You can even it share with your pooch!)
