The Daily Dish How to Holiday

Here's How You Tablescape Like an Insta Pro This Holiday Season

This year, dinner will be served with a dash of holiday sparkle.

By Patricia Cunningham

Every year around this time, we get so focused on food and elbowing our way through the grocery store to nab choice ingredients before they’re sold out (at least in our crazy urban neighborhood), we tend to overlook the actual presentation of the meal itself. But part of what makes the holiday season really fun and sets it apart from your average dinner experience is getting the table all gussied up with centerpieces, candles, décor and sparkly things.

We have to admit, table accents and dining finery are one area where our personal inventory would probably qualify as more along the lines of minimalist and lackluster — basic utilitarian dinner and serve-ware, standard issue silverware and utensils, virtually nonexistent tabletop decorations and fine china in deep storage. So this year we are ramping things up! The objective is to do the holidays justice and make the season as festive as can be, especially for the kids, who just love seeing the table all dressed up and ready to party. We’ve rounded up a completely comprehensive list of tabletop items that will makeover any holiday scene. Let’s just hope we all get a chance to sit down and actually enjoy it for once.
