Jax Taylor Confirms His Mom Missed His Wedding to Brittany Cartwright
The Vanderpump Rules newlywed offers an update on his relationship with his estranged parent.
When Jax Taylor married Brittany Cartwright on Saturday (June 29) in Kentucky, the Vanderpump Rules couple was surrounded by those they love most — including many friends and relatives. However, one was missing.
As viewers witnessed during Season 7 of Vanderpump Rules, the groom documented his estrangement from his mother following his father Ronald Cauchi's passing in December 2017. And just weeks before his nuptials, he still wasn't sure if his mom, Marie Cauchi, would attend the event.
He then confirmed to PEOPLE that she did not end up attending the wedding, after all.
“It’s really, obviously bittersweet. My parents won’t be there. That’s just the hard part about it, but it’s obviously a big day in both of our lives," he told the publication. "We’re both very, very excited. I’m very excited. We’re eager to get going.”
Jax did find a way to honor his late dad — by including an empty seat at the ceremony that featured a photo of his beloved pop. According to PEOPLE, the wedding program also included the note, “We know you’d be here today if heaven wasn’t so far away," that not only honored his dad, but also Brittany's late grandpa.
