Jenna Dewan tops the cover of the new Harper's Bazaar with the headline "Jenna Dewan's New Dawn," and the actress opens up about her career, parenting and relationships in a revealing interview post her split with Channing Tatum.
She’s not moping because she is single, even if it wasn’t what she was expecting.
"I feel a sense of joy and freedom and excitement, truly, about a new chapter in my life. And I have no attachments to how that's going to look, or what that's going to be. I feel really open, and I feel hopeful."
She also seems like she’s doing well co-parenting daughter Everly with Channing, something she calls “a new normal with a lot of love,” but admits that they’re still figuring it all out: “We're in a very positive energy together, trying to be the best parents to Everly. We support each other."
Everly gets all the credit for her mother’s booming career, too, because when she arrived, Jenna gained a sense of security that was in contrast to the anxieties that her job provokes.
"Whether you try and hide it or not, most actresses and actors have a certain sense of anxious desperation about what their next job is. As soon as I had Everly, it went away. I had this freedom of, 'Well, I could never work another day in my life, and I have a purpose.'"
