Believe it or not, there are some careers in which people are more likely to cheat on their partners.

Cheating site Ashley Madison — which helps married people have affairs — determined through a survey that people working certain jobs are more likely to stray from their relationship, whether it's due to long hours at work or a loose schedule that allows for a fling.

The most common job for a cheating woman (according to the results) is one in the medical field, and a large chunk of female doctors or nurses (23 percent) admitted to cheating. “A combination of long hours of potential stress mixed with a natural reaction to stress just might be the reason these women in the medical profession seek out an affair,” reports Ashley Madison.

Here are the top 12 careers that cheating female respondents had:

  1. Medical, nurses and doctors
  2. Education
  3. Entrepreneurs
  4. Finance
  5. Social work
  6. Retail and hospitality
  7. I.T.
  8. Marketing and communications
  9. Trades/Builders
  10. Legal
  11. Arts and entertainment
  12. Politics

On the other hand, men who worked in trades made up nearly 30 percent of the men asked, with that industry holding the top spot. “Jobs in trades often mean irregular hours and are often structured in shift work meaning it's easier for men to fly under the radar when it comes to sneaking around with an affair partner,” reported the survey.

Here's the ranked list of careers of cheating male respondents:

  1. Trades
  2. I.T.
  3. Entrepreneurs
  4. Retail and hospitality
  5. Finance
  6. Marketing and communications
  7. Medical, Nurses/Doctors
  8. Legal
  9. Education
  10. Arts and entertainment
  11. Agriculture/Farming
  12. Social work
