Amanda Batula Shuts Down "Misconception" That Her Parents "Run" Her Finances: "I'm an Adult"

In an April 2024 interview with The Daily Dish , Amanda clarified that her parents do not play a big role when it comes to how she manages her money. "People think that I don't do my own taxes and that my parents run my bank account — I don't know where that misconception happened," Amanda began. "I don't know how that started. But, I have full access to my bank account. I know exactly how much money I have in it. My parents do not have access to it." Amanda continued, "There was just one from when I was a kid — like, [a] trust, you know, or the bonds and stuff, that I didn't know [about]."

Further elaborating about her taxes when speaking to The Daily Dish , Amanda stated, "I do just as much as my taxes as Kyle does. Like, an accountant does our taxes." "I'm fully capable," she added with a laugh. "I am an adult. People think that I'm just a little child and don't do anything. I get it DM'ed to me all the time, that I can't even do my own taxes. And I'm like, 'Let me see you do your own taxes!' Everyone's using, like, TurboTax and H&R Block. Nobody's doing their own taxes anyway."

Amanda Batula has never shied away from talking about her life on Summer House — especially when it comes to her relationship with Kyle Cooke — and now, she's setting the record straight on one major aspect: her finances.

Amanda Batula's Relationship with Her Parents

While Amanda's parents may not manage her finances, she's always remained close with her mom and dad. She and Kyle often visit her parents' New Jersey home, and as they've discussed on Summer House Season 8, they eventually plan to make the move to the Garden State themselves.

Kyle Cooke Clarifies His "Position" on Moving Out of New York City with Amanda Batula

"When the weather is nice, we definitely go there as an escape," Amanda told The Daily Dish. "My mom makes these beautiful appetizers and she has drinks that she's serving you, and just all this food ... I still don't get why Kyle would not want that life."
