Ashley Darby Describes the "Avalanche of Emotions" She Felt Before Welcoming Son Dylan
The mom of two opens up about her emotional journey on the way to the hospital on The Real Housewives of Potomac.
In the August 1 episode of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Ashley Darby got emotional as she prepared to head to the hospital to give birth to her second child.
"It's harder than I thought to leave to go to the hospital because I won't see Dean for a couple of days, and when I come back, he won't be our only baby anymore," Ashley shared with tears in her eyes. "So I'm having a bit of a tough time."
Ashley opened up more about what she was experiencing at the time in a post on Instagram following the episode on August 2. "The avalanche of emotions that I felt before leaving to go to the hospital was so surprising to me," Ashley wrote in the post, which featured a clip of the RHOP moment. "Even with all of the excitement of Dylan entering this world, I still had to acknowledge the relationship I’d built with Dean over the past 1.5 years."
"The book of motherhood has endless chapters," Ashley ended her message, along with a heart emoji.
Ashley has taken RHOP fans along for the ride throughout her journey with motherhood, from when she was expecting her first child, Dean, whom she welcomed in 2019, to her battle with postpartum depression to the subsequent issues in her marriage with Michael Darby. In the current Season 6 of RHOP, as Ashley got ready to welcome her second child, son Dylan, she has opened up about how things would be different than her first pregnancy, both in terms of childrearing and in her marriage.
Ashley has kept fans updated on all of Dylan's latest milestones since he was born in March. In fact, Ashley recently shared in her Instagram Story that her baby boy just started teething.
