You Need to See the Size of Below Deck Sailing Yacht's "Massive" New Fenders
The Parsifal III crew is taking extra precautions after last season's dock crash.
Before the Parsifal III ran aground earlier this season, the biggest accident to ever happen on Below Deck Sailing Yacht was when the vessel crashed into the dock back in Season 2. So now, Captain Glenn Shephard isn't taking any chances when it comes to bringing the boat into port.
In the above first look at the April 11 episode of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, the conditions aren't ideal as the Parsifal III crew gets ready to drop the charter guests off. "Dude, it looks like we could get some bad weather while we're docked," Captain Glenn radios to Gary King in the above video exclusive to Bravo Insider members. "So before we arrive, we want to blow up those new fenders, yeah?"
Captain Glenn then explains how last season's crash caused them to get some new fenders for the vessel while docking. "When it comes to unpredictable weather and wind and docks, I've learned the hard way," he says in an interview in the clip. "We have a very delicate, expensive paint job, and we've got a storm coming. So if it's blowing you onto the dock, you need extra protection."
These fenders aren't just big; they're HUGE. How large, you ask? Well, let's just say that "massive" and "the size of a house" are just some of the words the crew uses to describe them.
Naturally, it's all hands on deck to get these fenders in position during docking. However, that is easier said than done as the size of the fenders (did we mention they are ginormous?) makes them a bit unwieldy. With everything descending into chaos on deck, Gary can only conclude, "This is making us look like f--king idiots."
