Carl Radke Reveals New Details on Why Proposing to Lindsay Hubbard “Wasn’t Easy"
The Summer House cast member took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes look at his Hamptons proposal.
After popping the question to friend-turned-girlfriend Lindsay Hubbard on Episode 13 of Summer House, Carl Radke is revealing more about all of the effort that went in to the epic Hamptons proposal. In short, he said that "it wasn't easy" to pull off.
In case you need a refresher, the Carl proposed to his girlfriend of about a year on the beach in the Hamptons. Before he got down on one knee, Carl got Lindsay to the sand by telling her that they needed to get firewood for an "elevated chic" bonfire with the rest of the cast. Once Lindsay said "a thousand times yes" to Carl's proposal, the couple celebrated the night away with their castmates, friends, and loved ones (including Lindsay's parents, who flew up from the Sunshine State) at Dockers Waterside Marina & Restaurant in East Quogue.
The Pittsburgh native took to Instagram once the proposal celebration aired on May 8 to offer a detailed look at all of the moving parts that had to come together in time for the big day.
"Lindsay and I have been sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly, for [seven] years," Carl wrote in his caption alongside a series of photos from the August proposal night. "Our summers have been a huge part of the foundation for our friendship, relationship and fairytale. Nevertheless, getting engaged in the Hamptons was a dream come true. I’m so glad I pulled off the surprise BUT it wasn’t easy!"
The former Loverboy VP of Sales went on to thank Lindsay's family for making the journey north to be there for the surprise, and he noted that he was "extremely grateful" to their friends for doing the same.
"Lindsay had zero idea any of this was happening and seeing these photos says it all. Thank you [Kyle Cooke and Andrea Denver] for your confidence boost and keeping it a [secret]. Shoutout to [Chris Leoni] for capturing these precious moments and bringing your extendo lens," Carl added. "And lastly, thank you to [Bravo] and our phenomenal production team. I did what I thought was best to pull off this amazing surprise so thank you for your support... [Can't] wait to marry my best friend! I love you Lindsay!"
Lindsay took to the comments' section to thank her fiancé for all of his efforts.
"IT WAS THE MOST MAGICAL NIGHT" she wrote. "Thank you for all of the planning and hard work to pull this off baby… it was worth it because it was so so so special..."
She also shared a few snapshots of her own, which included photos with her father and stepmother.
"The moment it became real for me," she captioned her Instagram carousel. "Up until this point when I saw my dad [and] stepmom, it hadn’t quite hit me yet! I love you my Lito..."
In the months since Carl and Lindsay got engaged, the Summer House-mates have gotten to work to plan their upcoming wedding.
"I’m happy to report… we’re locked in with a venue. It’s going to be Mexico,” Carl said during a March episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
While the guest list has yet to be publicly shared, Carl also said that one Bravolebrity may have a crucial role in the big day.
“We’re still working out some of the logistics, but we’re going to have a conversation with Captain Lee [Rosbach],” Carl teased on WWHL about having the Below Deck captain officiate the November nuptials.
In the meantime, while their wedding day may be quickly approaching, Carl and Lindsay are still basking in the glory of their August Hamptons engagement.
