Did Amy Schumer Just Create a Musical About Bethenny Frankel?
The funny lady mixes up the #RHONY entrepreneur with a famous historical figure in this hilarious sketch.
Hamilton is the hottest musical on Broadway these days, so who wouldn't want to capture a little bit of that historical hip-hop musical's magic in their own production? Amy Schumer attempts to do just that in this sneak preview from the upcoming Season 4 of Inside Amy Schumer, which premieres April 21 on Comedy Central. And let's just say, it doesn't go as well as she had probably hoped.
Of course, when you're performing in front of Lin-Manuel Miranda, the writer and star of Hamilton, you're bound to be a little nervous. Amy was so full of jitters in front of the musical genius that she said she was creating a musical about "Bethenny Ross." "Betsy Ross. You're mixing up a historical figure with a Real Housewife," Lin-Manuel corrected her, referring to The Real Housewives of New York City's Bethenny Frankel.
If Amy did create an entire musical about Bethenny, we would definitely be first in line at the box office for tickets. But we do have to admit that Betsy, who is credited for making the first American flag, is probably more in line with the historical themes of the show that Amy is aiming for.
But that little mix-up is only the beginning of Amy's struggle to impress Lin-Manuel. You'll see what we mean when you check out the full sketch, which was originally unveiled by Entertainment Weekly, below.
And if Amy did ever decide to create a musical about Bethenny or any of the other RHONY 'Wives, she'd be an amazing star, as this edition of Clubhouse Playhouse clearly shows.
