Heather Gay on How Jen Shah "Reacts to Things" on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City

The RHOSLC cast member opens up about her friend's drama with Whitney Rose this season.

The Salt Lake City Housewives have certainly been an open book in their debut season on Bravo, and we've loved getting to know all the different sides of the ladies, including Jen Shah, who has shown us just how dynamic she is as a wife, mother, friend, and businesswoman.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City on Peacock and the Bravo App.

As fans have witnessed all the different aspects of Jen's life this season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, they have also come to notice how she handles challenging situations with her friends. So, one fan asked Jen's good friend Heather Gay about Jen's reaction to all the drama this season of RHOSLC during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on January 20. "I think this is how Jen reacts to things, intense things, and I think there's a lot of intense things that happen during the show," Heather explained in the above clip, adding that she's "seen her react like this" even before RHOSLC.

Things did get intense during the RHOSLC ladies' trip to Las Vegas in the January 20 episode when the subject of Whitney Rose's comments about Meredith Marks and Lisa Barlow being "scared" of Jen came up again. "Yeah, it was totally unexpected. I was nervous when she had something special planned," Heather said on WWHL of her shopping trip with Jen. "I wasn't sure what was gonna happen, but it felt like we were having a great time, and then all of a sudden, Whitney got mentioned and that set fire to the rain."

However, Heather said that Whitney was right in confronting Jen at Sharrieff Shah's birthday party (clip below). "You know, I wanted it to happen. I wanted to talk to Jen about this, like, I really did. I didn't want what happened to happen, but I wanted the conversation to happen and to open up a dialogue," Heather shared. "Whitney's kind of a dragon slayer. I sent her in 'cause she'll clear the forest for me."

During the WWHL After Show, one fan asked Heather if she felt like Jen "should take responsibility for her own actions at her party." "Yeah, for sure, that was our intent when we discussed it," Heather responded in the below clip. "When you see your friend hurting and you love their husband, I just wanted to make it go away and be better; I didn't care how we got there. I knew what I wanted, and we just had to get there, whatever it took."

After Show: Does Meredith Marks Think Mary Cosby is Being Petty?

Jen previously addressed her behavior this season of RHOSLC when she stopped by WWHL in December 2020. "You are seeing Jen Shah on a normal day," she said. "This is just me. You're getting Jen Shah. I was dealing with a lot during filming with my dad and all that stuff, so I think I was a little bit more upset than usual. Or, maybe not. You're getting Jen Shah. I mean, that's me. When people ask if that's really me, I think it's weird. I'm like, yeah, that's me. That's how I was born."
