Kelly Dodd and Her Daughter's Reunion with Her Mother Is Bursting with Holiday Joy
The Real Housewives of Orange County family is back on track after not talking for two years.
Kelly Dodd's family is back together again.
The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member has reunited with her mother, Bobbi, following a tense time between the relatives that we've been following this season. Kelly's mom is currently back in the OC visiting from Arizona, where she moved after previously staying with her daughter in California.
This dynamic mother-daughter duo got in the holiday spirit at Fashion Island in Newport, California, along with Kelly's 13-year-old daughter, Jolie. "Happy to have my Mom come and help me with Jolie," Kelly shared in a pic of the three beautiful women that featured a ginormous Christmas tree in the background.
Kelly opened up about the rift in her relationship with her mother and her little brother, Eric, earlier this season of RHOC, which stemmed from the time her family was living with her in the OC a couple of years ago. She also provided more insight into the cause of the strain in their relationship and addressed some rumors about their conflict in The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 14 After Show (clip below).
"My mother was telling sensitive information to my brother and then causing problems," Kelly explained. "So I felt a little bit ganged up on, and I think the demise of our relationship was I spoil her, I feel like I do so much for her, but they weren't reciprocating. She wanted to be mad at me, she wanted to yell at me, she wanted to be in control, and I had had it."
This conflict also impacted Jolie's relationship with her grandmother, which was especially heartbreaking for Kelly to see since she was extremely close with her grandma when she was alive.
"Jolie knew exactly what was going on, and I think she's mad at my mom because she didn't talk to her, she never called her, she didn't want to make an effort to see her, she didn't send her birthday cards for two years," Kelly shared in The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 14 After Show, which you can view, above.
Since then, Kelly has worked on her relationship with her mom and her brother, telling ET in September that things were "very good" between them.
"I'm on really good terms with my brother and my mom," she said. "They were at my house all weekend, for a week. They've come twice this summer, 'cause they live in Arizona. So, yeah, I mean, we are back to where we were before. So, you know, there's this really good thing about the show is that it really brought my mom and my brother [and me] back together. So, hopefully, next season you'll see more of them. You can see them this season, but you know, my mom's doing very well."
Bobbi also came out to California at the end of the summer to spend some quality time with Kelly and Jolie.
Kelly has been all about family this week, also giving a shout-out to her big brother JR Meza, who has tried to bring his sister and mom closer together this season of RHOC, in honor of his 50th birthday.
"I love you so much!! Thank you for everything!!" Kelly gushed in a post on Instagram on December 12 in which she remarked how much her brother looks like their grandfather with a side-by-side image of the two. "I love you so much and thanks for [always] having my back!! You are the best brother!"
