Jackie Goldschneider's Update on Her Eating Disorder Recovery
On WWHL, Jackie revealed that she did have an identifiable moment when she realized that she needed to focus on her recovery. "I was on the floor and realized that if I didn't stop now I wouldn't even make it to an old age," she explained, noting that this particular moment happened during a time when she was stressed out and had been coping by limiting her food intake.
"I used to take it all out on food, and I just wasn't eating, and it was bad," she continued. "But, I wouldn't change anything because it got me here."
Today, Jackie says, I'm about 80 percent there, and the rest of it is not an eating disorder; it's more like fears around food that I [have] to conquer. But, I'm really almost all the way there, and it's life changing. It's amazing."
Later on in the episode, host Andy Cohen asked Jackie if she had any words of wisdom for people who may also be struggling with eating disorders, or who may not be feeling comfortable in their own skin.
"I would say, 'Just keep going,'" Jackie said, because "'it's so much better on the other side. So much better.'"
