Meghan King Edmonds Speaks out on Husband Jim Edmonds' Other Woman
"I only blame my husband for his actions," The Real Housewives of Orange County alum said.
Meghan King Edmonds is speaking out on the woman her husband, Jim Edmonds, admitted to engaging "in an inappropriate conversation" with via text message.
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum commented on a recent report that revealed the woman's identity in a statement to Us Weekly on June 21. “I only blame my husband for his actions: he made the choice to betray my trust and jeopardize our marriage," she said. "His recklessness also allowed this woman to profit from my heartbreak — but now that her name is out there, she won’t be able to shake down any other families as I rebuild mine.”
Jim addressed allegations that he had been unfaithful to his wife in March 2018 in a statement to Us Weekly earlier this month. “Regrettably, I had a lapse in judgment. I engaged in an inappropriate conversation with this person,” he said. “At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none. This is someone trying to profit from my name. I am aware she has done this to others in the past.”
At first, Meghan expressed doubt over Jim's characterization of the indiscretion in a post published on her blog on June 14. "Do I believe him? I don’t know. Because I don’t trust him anymore," she wrote. "Physical or not, he still had an affair and he admits this to me."
However, she was ultimately optimistic that their relationship could bounce back from this. "I am a victim, but I am not defined by this. I need space to heal," Meghan wrote in her blog. "Ultimately, I have hope our marriage can recover."
In the week after the news of Jim's alleged cheating broke, Meghan was spotted without her wedding ring, fueling speculation about the state of her marriage. "She's not wearing her ring right now as she navigates the rough waters of repairing her marriage," a source told E! News. "She's fully married to Jimmy and loves him deeply despite not wearing her ring right now."
Most recently, Meghan and Jim came together to support their 1-year-old son Hart as he had an MRI performed after the family became concerned that he might have a neurological disorder. "But mommy and daddy's best part is the results," Meghan captioned one photo of Jim holding Hart, suggesting that the prognosis for their son was a positive one.
Meghan and Jim are also parents to Hart's twin brother Hayes, 1, and daughter Aspen, 2. The couple will celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary in October.
