Lala Kent and fiancé Randall Emmett both took some time to reflect on their relationship on what would’ve been their wedding day. After delaying their April 18 nuptials amid concerns over the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Vanderpump Rules couple shared emotional messages about coping with the postponement, with Randall sending his wife-to-be the sweetest gift in honor of the meaningful date.

Lala first made note of the day with a touching post on Instagram, sharing a close-up photo of herself in a veil. “Life doesn’t care what we want or have planned,” she wrote in the caption. “I’m a Virgo, so that really messes with me. I’m working on being softer. Going with the flow of things and realizing that light and love with [sic] conquer it all.”

She went on to add, ““Happy 4-18-2020. Stay healthy and strong. That’s all that matters at this time.”

Lala wasn’t the only one who commemorated the occasion. Though they couldn’t celebrate the way they had originally envisioned, Randall didn’t let that stop him from making a romantic gesture. The Hollywood producer sent his soon-to-be wife a beautiful bouquet of flowers alongside a sweet note, as Lala shared on her Instagram Stories.

“To the Future Mrs. Emmett,” the note read. “These flowers are a celebration of what is to come soon in our July wedding and the blessing that we will become one. I love you more than any words could ever describe. My heart is full of love because I have you. Love, Your Future Husband.”

Randall also took to Instagram to gush over his fiancée, sharing a photo of the day they got engaged. “This was the most magical night of my life when I asked you to be my wife. Today was the day we were supposed to get married. Covid had other plans for us,” the caption read in part.

In March, the Vanderpump Rules couple announced that they were delaying their wedding until the summer. “We have decided to move the date of our wedding to July given the unfortunate circumstances of what is going on,” they said in a statement to PEOPLE at the time. “We are obviously saddened by this but for the ultimate safety of our families and guests, we have made the decision to wait and see how everything progresses. Safety will always be our number one priority.”
