Luann de Lesseps Has Her "Blinders Off" After Watching Her Defense of Tom at the RHONY Reunion
The #RHONY mom is feeling very differently about her relationship these days.
A lot has changed for Luann de Lesseps since she filmed the Season 9 The Real Housewives of New York City reunion last month. The RHONY mom filed for divorce from husband Tom D'Agostino three weeks after the season-ending sit-down.
Luann continued to defend Tom and his controversial behavior when she sat down with the other RHONY ladies at the reunion. But watching the episode back was a different story. "This is going to be tough to watch," Luann began a string of tweets about the reunion Wednesday night.
Luann went on to thank Bethenny Frankel for "having my back" and upholding "#girlcode" when she talked about Tom at the reunion.
She also responded to Bethenny saying that it seemed like she had a "Countess shield up" and was not showing how she really felt about Tom's comments about their marriage during the reunion. "The shield is called self-preservation," Luann tweeted.
At the end of the night, Luann tweeted, "#blindersoff," which seems to suggest that she's no longer ignoring what may have been happening in her relationship.
Luann announced that she and Tom are divorcing after seven months of marriage on August 3. "It's with great sadness that Tom & I agreed to divorce," said in a statement on Twitter at the time. "We care for each other very much, hope you respect our privacy during this sad time!"
Since then, many of the RHONY ladies have lended their support to Luann during this difficult time, including Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley and Tinsley Mortimer.
