Marlo Hampton Claps Back at the Atlanta Housewives Continuing to Question How She Makes Money
The RHOA cast member revealed what’s “bringing in plenty of money” for her outside of the show.
Marlo Hampton has always given the women of The Real Housewives of Atlanta a lot to talk about, and the current Season 14 is no exception. In particular, there has long been a lot of chatter surrounding her glamorous lifestyle, with how she makes a living seemingly shrouded in mystery for the women.
When Real Housewives superfan Joel Kim Booster appeared with Marlo on the June 12 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, one fan wanted to know if the actor and comedian thinks “it’s fair for the Atlanta women to consistently question where and how Marlo makes her money,” according to Andy Cohen, who read the viewer’s question. “Yes, because I’m curious too,” Booster replied. “But I know you worked hard for it. That’s all I know.”
Marlo then confirmed, “That’s all that matters, right? I worked hard for it.”
Andy followed up that fan question with a Q of his own, asking the RHOA cast member if she had to name her “main income stream” outside of the show, what would it be? “Please call Uncle Sam and ask him,” Marlo cheekily said, before clarifying, “It’s not if I had to say it. I told you guys what I did. I’ve always worked in retail. I had my own boutique in Atlanta. I had the hottest boutique in Atlanta. Jazze Pha, Toya, Eva [Marcille], who was on [RHOA]. Everyone shopped with me.”
That boutique, which opened in 2008, according to Marlo’s website, has since closed. However, RHOA fans know that this fashionista has been hard at work on another business venture in recent years: Le’ Archive, a fashion showroom that rents out designer pieces curated by Marlo herself. “Le’ Archive is bringing in plenty of money. You just saw Tami Roman on the MTV [Movie & TV] Awards. I just styled Tiny’s daughter, Zonnique [Pullins],” Marlo shared on WWHL. “I mean, it’s bringing in money. I just don’t have to broadcast it.”
Marlo also noted that she wouldn’t be on Bravo and finally the proud holder of a peach on this season of RHOA if she weren’t financially well-off. “If you’re broke and you’re on the same platform as Andy, you’re crazy,” she said.
Earlier on this season of RHOA, Marlo celebrated the launch of Le’ Archive with a gala, which inspired some shady commentary from the Atlanta Housewives in attendance, including Kandi Burruss, who poked a little fun at how Marlo is able to fund her fabulous lifestyle these days. “You know what, Kandi, at the end of the day, that’s Archive money,” Marlo explained during an appearance on WWHL in May. “I know how to invest. It is what it is.”
Kenya Moore also had a lot to say about Marlo’s finances and the Le’ Archive event on the RHOA Season 14 premiere. See how Marlo reacted to it all in the WWHL clip below.
