Emily Simpson is opening up about her husband, Shane Simpson's, latest achievement. The RHOC mom also made sure to offer some clarification about a subject that had come up during the Season 16 premiere regarding the State Bar of California lowering the minimum score needed to pass the exam due to the pandemic, which viewers may recall, was brought up in conversation with Emily's BFF, Gina Kirschenheiter.

"Welcome to the [California] Bar Baby," Emily wrote in the caption of her March 16 post, which featured a series of sweet photos with their family at Shane's swearing-in ceremony. She went on to add, "To clarify: the [California] Bar Examiners didn’t lower the score 'so Shane could pass'. I doubt the Bar Examiners are avid Bravo watchers who lowered the score [because] they wanted to throw Shane a bone. The [California] Bar Exam is historically and consistently the hardest Bar Exam to pass."

Emily went on to explain just how challenging California's bar exam was to pass, adding in her caption, "For example, in February of 2020 the pass rate was 26%. Based on the consistently low passing rate, the threshold passing score was changed from 1450 to 1390. This was to benefit ALL test takers."

In addition to highlighting the difficulties of the California bar exam, which Shane had previously taken several times before and hadn't passed, Emily expressed her gratitude for those who had been "kind and supportive" on their journey and celebrated her husband's success as well. She also acknowledged the ups and downs that she and Shane went through in their marriage as he faced the challenges of passing the exam.

"Lastly, thank you for following this journey for nearly four years," Emily added in the caption of her post. "It definitely took a toll on our marriage, but I’m proud that we persevered. The lesson one can take from this is to never give up on your dreams! Failures are hard and hurtful, but remember to pick yourself back up, dust yourself off, and try again! Success is never easy!"

And, of course, Emily — who had passed the California bar exam in 2005 and had mentioned in the March 16 episode that she had always wanted to be an attorney "from a very young age" — couldn't resist getting behind the bench in the courtroom during Shane's swearing-in ceremony and sharing fun captures of the moment on her Instagram Stories.

She also shared some snapshots from the celebratory occasion on her Instagram Stories, writing, "Family."
