Shep Rose recently underwent a knee surgery and luckily for him, he has his loyal 1-year-old dog, Lil Craig, to nurse him back to health: Shep shared some moments he's had with his pet following the surgery that have included the Frenchie "protecting my knee post surgery."

The Southern Charm dog dad also shared a moment of Craig snuggled up against the injured knee because as Shep put it, "We don't deserve dogs."

The isn't the first time that Shep has dealt with a knee surgery. He previously underwent one in 2017. Oh, and he also hurt a knee in 2018 after falling off a mechanical bull.

At the time of the 2017 knee surgery, he opened up about why he decided to have it in an interview with The Daily Dish. "It was something that happened over time. It wasn't a seismic event — it was just wear and tear and I got my knee scoped," he shared at the time.

"I was in L.A. this summer and woke up one morning and couldn't move. And I didn't know what the hell happened. I must have injured it 'cause it was feeling kind of weird before that. So I went to my friend's house in L.A. in Venice Beach and he doesn't have air conditioning, which is insane. I guess at night it gets cool in Los Angeles, but I'm sitting there sweating on the couch. My leg can't move and I ordered GrubHub and got some bad Chinese food and got sick. And I was throwing up and I also couldn't move. It was one of the worst days of my life. So I was like, 'I got to get this fixed.' So I got it fixed — that's the good news," he explained.

While it was unclear as of press time why Shep had this most recent surgery, back in 2017 he had some ideas as to why his knee was bothering him then, offering up these theories: "Surfing, football, God knows what else. Partying — an old partying injury."
