Phaedra and Shereé Have Each Other's Backs on The Traitors – But For How Long?
With a simple choice in this week's The Traitors, Shereé Whitfield brought Phaedra Parks to tears — in a good way!
This story contains spoilers for The Traitors Season 2, Episode 7.
All eyes were on Phaedra Parks in this week's The Traitors, which saw the Married to Medicine star work alongside Chris "C.T." Tamburello in the challenge and get "saved" by her longtime friend Shereé Whitfield (The Real Housewives of Atlanta).
While fans online were quick to note how cozy Phaedra and C.T. have been thus far (with C.T. even holding her close in his arms as he rested his chin on her head), we here at The Daily Dish were more invested in Phaedra's overwhelming emotions during the week's "Sacrifice" proceedings.
What had Phaedra so emotional that she could barely speak?
Who was saved from The Traitors sacrifice?
During the episode, host Alan Cumming informed the players that the Roundtable was canceled for the evening. Instead, he led the players into the dark, foreboding woods that surround his castle in the Scottish Highlands.
"Tonight, you will have the power to change the course of this entire game," Alan informed the players. "This evening, the Traitors will murder once more. You now have the power to decide who will be spared that fatal blow."

Alan explained that five of the players would be left "at the mercy of the Traitors, and one of them will be murdered."
Starting with Sandra Diaz-Twine (Survivor) and Kevin Kreider (Bling Empire), who'd each won a shield during the day's challenge, Alan ordered them to decide who they wanted to save together. Without much debate, it seemed, they chose Shereé, using a torch to light the one planted before her.
Shereé tapped Phaedra. Phaedra chose C.T., who then (much to Trishelle Cannatella's distress) protected John Bercow. And John, with the final choice, brought Peter Weber (The Bachelor) into the fold.
Why would Shereé "save" Phaedra?
Once it was her turn, Shereé chose to protect her former Housewives co-star Phaedra. The move — signalling Shereé's total belief that Phaedra is a Faithful — brought Phaedra to tears.
When Alan asked Shereé why she chose Phaedra, she said, "I picked Phaedra because I don't feel like people should be targeting people because of the show that we're on. I believe that she's faithful."
Why was Phaedra so emotional about Shereé saving her?
As Kate Chastain (Below Deck) and C.T. comforted Phaedra, Alan checked in to make sure Pheadra was OK. She responded that she was feeling "emotional."
"I've known Shereé for well over 20 years," Phaedra said in a confessional. "We've got a history that none of these people will understand. So my emotion is about life coming around full circle and bringing us here [to] this moment."
While Phaedra has left the RHOA family in recent years and joined up with the ladies of Married to Medicine, that hasn't seemed to put a damper on the trust they built up over the years.
Even if the pair had their ups and downs on RHOA — as any longtime friendship does — the bond of being series OGs will last forever. At least, we hope so. Whether or not that bond will last through Shereé discovering that Phaedra has been lying to her face about her Traitor status all this time remains a mystery!
New episodes of The Traitors Season 2 premiere every Thursday. Episodes are available to stream on Peacock alongside The Traitors: Postmortem after show.
