Tom Sandoval's Tips on How to Beat the Winter Blues

The 'Vanderpump Rules' shares his three essential grooming rules to make it through the cold months.

By Jordan Upmalis

It's no secret that Tom Sandoval takes his appearance seriously (read: very seriously). And even though summer seems still too far away, he insists on some grooming tips that will keep you beating the winter blue, which he shares in this week's Tom's Take on Pop Dust.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Peacock and the Bravo app.

First things first, don't let those lips of yours suffer from the cold. "At night, before you go to bed, when you wash your face, get a warm wet cloth and scrub and exfoliate those lips," Tom advises. "No-one is going to want to kiss that mouth of yours if they think they might end up chewing on little bits of dead, white, crusty lip skin." Fair enough. Tom also suggests investing in a lip-specific exfoliant if you need an added boost.

Next up, don't let your heater dry out your skin. "You need a heavy moisturizer to apply over the whole face (except the eye area)— especially at night before you go to bed, and especially this time of year," he explains. "Sleeping with a heater on just sucks all the moisture out of your face, which can cause you to appear older than you are." Well, we definitely don't want that!

Last, but certainly not least, makeup is your friend—even if you are a dude. His personal pick? "Clinique makes a great liquid bronzer especially for men— it retails for $20 and will last you an entire year. It works on nearly any skin tone and will never appear 'orange,'" he says. "It will give you a nice subtle glow during those winter months, and get rid of the 'I just shaved' look, if you are forced to get rid of your 'sexy stubble' or beard." Another added bonus? It'll make your pearly whites stand out. "Using this bronzer will help your teeth appear brighter because you are creating more contrast between skin tone and teeth."
