Marcus Samuelsson and His Wife Maya Welcome Their Second Child
The restaurateur and head judge of Peacock's Top Chef Family Style shares the happy news about his growing family.
Chef Marcus Samuelsson and his wife, Maya Haile Samuelsson, just welcomed their second child together! The head judge of Peacock's Top Chef Family Style (and Top Chef Masters alum) recently took to Instagram to announce the arrival of daughter Grace Ethiopia Samuelsson.
"She’s here! Welcome to the world, Grace Ethiopia," Marcus wrote in the caption of his January 30 post, alongside a heart emoji and adorable photo of his newborn baby and wife. He added in the caption, "Mommy [Maya Haile], big brother Zion and Daddy are so excited you’ve joined our family."
Bravo's Top Chef Season 17 winner Melissa King shared a sweet message for the now father of two in the comments. "Beautiful!," she wrote, alongside a heart emoji. Bravo's Top Chef Season 10 winner Kristen Kish also commented with several heart emojis.
Over the holidays, the couple, who welcomed their first child, son Zion Mandela, in 2016, shared a lovely family photo from when Marcus' wife Maya was pregnant with their daughter. "Merry Christmas from my (growing) family to yours!" Marcus wrote in the caption of his December 25 post, adding, "Sending you all love from myself, [Maya Haile], Zion and baby bump Grace!"
This isn't the only exciting news for Marcus lately. The famed celebrity chef will also be appearing on Bravo's Top Chef Season 19 in Houston, which premieres on Thursday March 3 at 8/7c with a supersized episode. Marcus is also a head judge on Top Chef Family Style streaming on Peacock, alongside host Meghan Trainor, as 15 talented culinary prodigies compete with an adult family member for the chance to be crowned champions. Bravo will encore the series directly following Top Chef every Thursday.
