On Wednesday, March 6, the Summer House newbie hit up social media to reveal he had been struck by a car while biking in New York City. West said the accident occurred earlier that morning as he was making his way to an afternoon dentist appointment.

“Everyone has New York firsts, you know, and I scratched one off the bucket list today,” he said in the TikTok video. “I was hit by a car while biking. I was going through a green [light] in the bike lane and this dude just turned left. I braked hard and just kind of let my hips and torso eat the hood of his car.”

He continued: “But I had to get to the dentist by noon so I popped up. I was like, ‘Your hood’s cool. I’m cool.’ The poor guy was about to start crying.”

West brushed off the incident and told fans he wasn’t seriously injured, but would likely “feel it in [his] hip” by the next day.

“I mean, fun experience, I suppose. So we’re all good,” he said in the video, which was captioned, “Prioritize dental health.”

West shed more light on the accident in a recent interview with Decider, reiterating that it wasn't a serious crash. He also revealed which of his castmates contacted him after he shared the experience online.

“I think maybe Danielle [Olivera] texted me, like, ‘Were you hit by a car?’” he told the outlet. “But I told the closest people around me right when it happened. My grandma called me and was like, ‘Did I just see you get hit by a car on the news?’ But I played it cool, obviously. I did make a TikTok, which maybe isn’t playing it cool. But I never claimed that I was that hurt, I don’t think. Yeah, it picked up a little traction.”

West Wilson addresses his romance with Ciara Miller

West made his Bravo debut during the Summer House Season 8 premiere on February 22. The NYC sports journalist quickly made waves at the Hamptons house due to his flirtatious exchange with housemate Ciara Miller

“West is impressing me, I’m not gonna lie,” Ciara admitted during a Season 8 Episode 1 confessional. “How many dudes do you meet in New York City… you go on a date with them and they literally only talk about themselves? [...] So, it is really nice to meet a guy who is actually inquisitive about my life.”

West told Decider he immediately vibed with Ciara and didn't hesitate to share his feelings.

“I actually told her this in the house one day… I think Ciara is very authentic to who she is,” he said. “I feel like everything she said was truly her opinion and her own thoughts. She never sounds rehearsed or produced. I just like that everything she felt and said felt very genuine and original and I like that about people.”

West Wilson says he and Ciara Miller finally had a "full sleepover"

Ciara Miller and West Wilson out to dinner during their first date

Following their first date in NYC, West and Ciara took things a bit further and shared a tent in Episode 5 of Summer House Season 8. West said the moment “felt very natural” and was a “neutral way get a sleepover under [their] belts.

“In the house, we each have our own rooms, but outside that’s not the case,” he said. “We’d been sitting [and] eating dinner together in the same chair for the last like four hours, so getting in the same tent felt very intuitive… But then it stormed, so it got cut short a little bit, unfortunately.”

But thankfully for West, he and Ciara got another chance later that summer.

"We finally move from the tent to a full sleepover under the same roof," he revealed. "I’m not sure how long it took me, but it finally happened. I finally got there."
