Kate Chastain Wasn't the Only Below Deck Crew Member Who Thought About Quitting in Season 7

The Valor crew members explain why they were committed to finishing out the season.

It definitely wasn't easy for the Below Deck crew to get through this charter season. With difficult charter guests, stern talks from Captain Lee Rosbach, and a divided crew, making it through nine charters was nothing short of a challenge.

So it's no surprise that the Valor didn't remain completely intact by the end of the charter season. Deckhand Abbi Murphy quit the crew earlier in the season, causing Captain Lee to bring Rhylee Gerber on board as her replacement

Kate Chastain even threatened to quit at one point and spent a night off the boat before returning and reporting for duty the next morning. "I quit that night because I just needed to get off the boat and away from the situation," she told The Daily Dish backstage at the Below Deck Season 7 reunion (clip above). "But of course I came back because I would never leave my crew or Captain Lee without a chief stew for the rest of the season."

She was actually not the only one tempted to depart the crew during one of the most difficult charter seasons ever. When The Daily Dish caught up with the whole Valor crew at the Below Deck Season 7 reunion, we asked the yachties if they ever thought about quitting this season, and the idea definitely crossed their minds.

In fact, this season was the only time Rhylee ever considered handing in her resignation. "I wanted to quit, yeah," the deckhand said. "This is the one job that I ever felt like I wanted to leave the boat, and that's simply because I dealt with a lot of a--holes, and I was over it."

But the reason why Rhylee and many of her fellow crew members didn't end up bidding the Valor crew adieu this season is because they knew how important it was to complete the job they signed up for. "If you don't intend to finish the task at hand, you shouldn't embark on the endeavor to begin with," Captain Lee shared his infinite words of wisdom with The Daily Dish at the reunion. "I always finish what I start. I can't think of a time when I haven't. I don't see a reason to change that philosophy now."
