Anne Hathaway Recalls the Painful Moment She Decided to Give up Booze
The Oscar winner had a moment of clarity when it came to drinking alcohol.
Doe-eyed Anne Hathaway isn't the type of celebrity you can easily imagine going overboard at the bar. But, appearances aren't always what they seem. And the Ocean's 8 actress — who is human, after all — has been in the all-too-familiar position of feeling like she's had one too many.
During an appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show, the Oscar winner shared this anecdote: "I quit drinking back in October." The actress, who has a 2-year-old son, continued: "I’m going to stop drinking while my son is in my house just because I don’t totally love the way I do it, and he’s getting to an age where he really does need me all the time in the mornings."
To clarify, it's not that Hathaway was drinking in the morning. But, she recalled one incident where she dropped her little one off at school and felt hungover from some carousing the night before. Hathaway wasn't the one driving, but the unpleasant sensation made a mark on her. "That was enough," the newly sober star explained. Cheers to Hathaway for doing what's best for her!
