Dolores Catania's 49th Birthday Cake Was Dripping in Chocolate and Covered With Candy

The Real Housewives of New Jersey mom had the sweetest birthday celebration.

By Jenny Berg

The Real Housewives of New Jersey ladies take their baked goods seriously — and we're not just talking about sprinkle cookies here. When Teresa Giudice turned 47, she celebrated with not one, but two Chanel-inspired cakes. At Melissa Gorga's 40th birthday bash, angels wheeled out an enormous, sparkling cake that spelled out the birthday girl's name. And when Dolores Catania turned 49 this past weekend, she celebrated with a photo-worthy dessert that was dripping in chocolate.

How to Watch

Watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Peacock and the Bravo app.

Dolores shared photos from her December 28 birthday party on Instagram. The family affair saw Dolores blowing out the candles on a whimsical, black-and-white cake with a border made of colorful candies.

Before making her wish, the 49-year-old asked her family to gather around the cake with her to snap a picture. We can see why: the eye-popping dessert certainly made for a sweet centerpiece. And as she wrote in a reflective Instagram post on her special day, family is everything to Dolores.

The post said, in part: "Waking up today and realizing I’m 49 years old has me reminiscing. It’s a surreal feeling to realize your age and think about all the time that has gone by. Initially it was overwhelming, although looking at my children and the relationships I have built throughout my life reminds me that I must be doing something right. The people you surround yourself with are one of the most crucial aspects in life." And if you ask us, good cake is pretty key, too.
