Luann de Lesseps and Bethenny Frankel Have a Major Fight About Luann's Time In Rehab on the RHONY Reunion

When Bethenny Frankel helped Luann de Lesseps though a hard time — which included getting her a lawyer and into a rehab center — the two seemed to be on good terms. But as we saw this season on The Real Housewives of New York City, Bethenny felt that Luann was ungrateful for all the help she provided and the Skinnygirl founder proceeded to have an epic meltdown at a dinner in Miami.
On Part 2 of the RHONY reunion, we saw the two battle out what they were really thinking, with Ramona Singer even butting in that she believes Luann is “still drinking on the side.”
“I’m a self-sabotager, that’s just who I am,” Luann told host Andy Cohen. “I’ve learned a lot about myself and when I’m doing great, that’s when I have to be extra careful. I can get alcohol anywhere, so forget the cabaret room. In the cabaret room, I’m busy on stage, I’m working.”
She added that she was “self-medicating” from her failed marriage to Tom D'Agostino and lonely because her kids are grown and out of the house. She then said she’s in therapy and that a manic episode is what set off her recent downward spiral.
But Bethenny called Luann’s behavior “very scary.” “Do you remember the night when you had the hat on and you went out for cigarettes and you were pacing?” Bethenny asked.
The two also differed on how long Luann spent in the rehab Bethenny secured for her. Luann insisted she left because she wanted to get back to cabaret, which has become her “therapy.”
“Everybody there supported it,” Luann said while Bethenny called that an “inaccurate monologue.”
“Why don’t you listen to me and listen to what happened?” Luann responded.
“Well because you were texting me from the rehab where they shouldn’t have had you on the phone 24 hours a day, obsessing about the house, and I don’t know why you had your cell phone or how you got it … You left not after three weeks, you did not stay 21 days. You did not stay 21 days,” Bethenny insisted.
“I stayed 21 days, I have the paperwork to prove it,” Luann told her.
“You stayed 21 days and you missed the reunion and it was disrespectful … it was disrespectful for me to spend multiple weeks and days living on Team Luann and you were having a mental breakdown,” said Bethenny, adding, “You made a commitment that you would stay and you didn’t stay.”
