When Tinsley Mortimer revealed that she would be departing The Real Housewives of New York City in the middle of Season 12 to move to Chicago to be with her now-fiancé Scott Kluth, fans let out a collective gasp. Tinsley traded in her apple for a fairytale life of love and luxury in the Windy City that includes a fresh new gig working alongside her husband-to-be. In an exclusive interview with Bravo Insider, Tinsley spilled the details on her new role as Editorial Director of Style and Beauty at CouponCabin (which was founded by Scott) and how her signature look has changed since saying goodbye to NYC

It should come as no surprise that Tinsley would put her expert fashion skills to good use in her newly-minted position given her history of high-end shopping. The Virginia native knows a thing or two about scoring designer duds — but in her new job, she's shopping smarter than ever, and teaching others how to do the same.

The Southern belle, who has helped us all make better Cyber Monday fashion decisions in the past, is sharing her shopping advice and insider knowledge on CouponCabin’s digital platform each month with tidbits on everything from how to get cash back to the pair of shoes she’s currently coveting. (Tinsley is well versed in the art of blogging, having been a contributor to publications such as Town & Country and Vogue to name a few.)

So how has her job changed her spending habits? “Of course I’m shopping a lot more too because I’m doing research,” she confessed. That's when her newfound savings savvy comes in handy: "I feel like a champion.”

Right now, Tinsley is focusing on all things cozy for her latest sartorial obsessions. Anything from trendy Golden Goose sneakers to Gucci heels and Frette linens for her bed have recently been added to her cart. She even wrote extensively about her must-have wellness products to get her through the holiday season. And, of course, Tinsley has upped her comfy coat game now that she’s braving Chicago winters.

“I always would dress [up] in New York. The only difference [now] of course is... it’s a lot colder,” she added. “Particularly where we live kind of closer to the lake, it is a bit windy. And so there’s just more layers of long coats and goggles and hats and boots.”

Surprisingly, the most "life-changing" style switch up that Tinsley made since her departure isn’t even of the fashion variety. “I did get [hair] extensions,” she mused, “which I’ve never done.” She credits her recent stint in Arizona as inspiration for longer locks.

“So many girls have them,” she said with a laugh. “They look really good and high quality and beautiful. So I just thought what the heck, when in Arizona. So I did it and I love it so much, it’s so fun. I have like super long hair right now. It’s really thick. And if I get a blowout it will last me so much longer.”

And before you ask, yes, Tinsley's mother Dale (who has famously had a few opinions on her daughter's hair) is on board with her latest look. “I was really surprised that she thought they were really pretty," said Tinsley. "I got Dale’s approval!”
