Could Gretchen Rossi Actually Already Be Mrs. Slade Smiley? Here's One Huge Clue
Our eagle eyes noticed something special in the new parents' first pic with baby Skylar Gray...
Skylar Gray Smiley was officially revealed to the world on Wednesday, July 17 in a series of pics on Instagram. The photos are from just hours after her birth on July 10, and while it's hard to take our eyes away from the baby's super cute face and hat, one detail on Gretchen's hospital gown — if it can even be called a hospital gown — caught our eyes.
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum posed with her fiancé, Slade Smiley, but notice the initials on her gown are not GCR for Gretchen Christine Rossi but instead GCS for Gretchen Christine Smiley.
So, what does this mean?
The new mom has previously been vocal about why she will not get married but then rumors swirled that her baby shower would double as a wedding, as she was already wearing white and there was an ordained pastor at the party.
Gretchen told PEOPLE back in May: “We’re not getting married, I hate to burst your bubble. Yes, my dress is white. And we thought about it for a very small second and then I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be fun to have another big party?’"
Is there a chance she just said that then (and again in her Instagram Stories), and will some time down the line reveal that they have in fact already gotten married, if not then, at another time? If so, they'd be in good company with Justin and Hailey Bieber, and more recently Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn, Heidi Klum and Tom Kaulitz, and Zoe Kravitz and Karl Glusman, who all announced their weddings well after they happened.
Gretchen could also be choosing to unofficially adopt his name, or chose the gown for when they do eventually get married so she can wear it for future babies.
For now, let's just chalk it up to the fact that monogrammed items are pretty permanent — and what happens to your cute monogrammed stuff with your single-gal initials if you later get married and change your name… especially if the item was expensive?
One thing’s for certain: Baby Skylar Gray and her stylish mama are already super cute at twinning, and we'll just add these two next to Kylie and Travis on our wedding watch list.
