Gizelle Bryant: Karen’s Braids Disrespected Her Not Me
"Why can’t I just eat my freakin' beignets in peace?!?"

Bravotv.com: What was it like to share your experience at Dooky Chase's with Candiace?
Gizelle Bryant: How amazing to have gone to Dooky’s and sit with Mrs. Chase. Clearly I had no idea that moment was going to be the last so it is bitter sweet, but I am grateful for all that she has shared not just with me and Candiace that day, but with the entire New Orleans community. She was such a blessing to everyone. Mrs. Chase will be missed.
Bravotv.com: Your father’s 80th birthday celebration was a huge success -- how did it feel celebrating him with your family, friends, and the ladies? Were you nervous to introduce the ladies to Steve?
GB: I was so happy to be with my family. Everybody came out and so I was excited for my Dad. I know these ladies so I know they are going to have unnecessary side comments about any man I bring around. It’s all good because it just solidifies my commentary about the men they have chosen to be with.

Bravotv.com: You got into it with Karen at Cafe Du Monde and mention how you feel that your friendship with Karen is one-sided. Why do you think she keeps asking you about Sherman? Why do you think she felt so disrespected by you?
GB: Why can’t I just eat my freakin' beignets in peace?!? I was so irritated with Karen because she can set boundaries, pick and choose what she wants to discuss, but it’s a crime if anyone else does. It was the wrong time for her to pluck my nerves, I had been waiting ALL DAY to go to Cafe Du Monde. Karen’s braids disrespected her not me.
