What a Vanderpump Rules Producer Revealed About Raquel's Season 10 Journey... Before the Drama

Get the scoop from a show insider on the drama of Vanderpump Rules Season 10!

By Jocelyn Vena

Get ready to hear all the Vanderpump Rules secrets from a producer who has been involved in the series since, quite literally, Season 1. Jeremiah Smith, Vanderpump Rules' Executive Producer and Showrunner, recently sat down with Scheana Shay for an interview with BravoTV.com during which he reflected on his journey from field producer to EP and showrunner.

How to Watch

Watch Vanderpump Rules on Bravo Tuesdays at 8/7c and next day on Peacock. Catch up on the Bravo app.

In addition to sharing details about his own evolution with the series, he also spoke about the show's current Season 10 and how he thinks it ranks.

"Let's be honest. We've had a weird couple of seasons, right?" he said, referencing that there were definitely some growing pains amid cast changes and COVID the last couple of seasons. "This year, I feel like it's our comeback season. It feels like Vanderpump Rules used to feel back in the day. And I honestly think this season is one of our best seasons so far."

He also noted that fans will be going on a journey with Raquel Leviss in the sit-down with Scheana, which was filmed before Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix's breakup, which Raquel has addressed in several statements amid rumors about their split.

After noting that Lala Kent and James Kennedy have been great additions to the show, he added, "But Raquel this year has been amazing. Like following Raquel's journey after she and James broke up has been so fascinating."

Season 10 has shown Raquel dating following her split from James and ending their engagement in December 2021. You can hear more from Jeremiah and Scheana by checking out the full interview, above.

Things have changed since then, of course. Fans will recall that news broke on March 3 that Tom and Ariana had split up after more than nine years together amid cheating allegations. Tom has issued two statements in the wake of the split. Raquel has also released two statements, the second of which she addressed her situation with Tom. Ariana has yet to publicly address the breakup.

“Besides the indefensible circumstances surrounding our relationship, my feelings for Tom have always been sincere and born out of a loving friendship. Knowing how many people we hurt, I need to understand my choices and learn to make better ones. I need to take care of my health, work on my self-growth and take time to be ok with being alone,” she wrote in a statement released on Wednesday, March 8. “I care for Tom and I don’t want to label anything or predict what lies ahead. Right now I need to heal.”

Vanderpump Rules later resumed production on Season 10 amid the split.
