Kyle Cooke Clarifies His "Position" on Moving Out of New York City with Amanda Batula

Season 8 of Summer House has documented Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula navigating a challenging time in their marriage as they disagree over where to live. While Amanda has expressed that she wants to relocate to New Jersey, where she is from, Kyle isn't ready to leave New York City. However, on the April 11 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Kyle clarified his stance on moving out of the Big Apple. 

Kyle Cooke explains why he doesn't want to leave New York City yet

During the episode, Andy Cohen asked on behalf of a viewer at home, "Kyle, will you ever move out of the city with Amanda and start a family of your own?"

"Absolutely," Kyle said. "We just weren't ready to go actually do that full-time, so we were looking at investment properties. My whole position on this is if we're still working things through as a couple, adding a kid into the mix doesn't solve any problems. So I was focused on us before we focus on family."

Kyle also offered another explanation for his feelings on moving in the Summer House Season 8 After Show video above. "I do want a house where my kids can play in a yard and play with their neighbors, but we don't have kids yet," he said. "We're not even trying to have kids. I also would feel completely cut off from society. Amanda's OK with that, I'm not."

"The thing that scares me the most is that if we prematurely jump out to the 'burbs, I just feel like I'm going to be trapped," he continued. "Amanda is very content sitting on the couch watching TV. She's not good at keeping up with her friends and making efforts to be social with them. If I work a lot, I need a social outlet and I would feel completely cut off from society."

Amanda Batula shares why she is ready to move out of NYC

As Amanda explained on Summer House Season 8, Episode 7 (which aired April 4), she and Kyle are interested in buying "an investment property" that would allow her to "get out of the city" for "a week or two or a month at a time." In the After Show video above, she explained, "I can't wait to have a yard and a home. I want to sit on my front porch and just like drink my coffee and watch the sun set."
