At Long Last, Below Deck's Kate Chastain Shows Exactly How to Do Those Yacht-Proof Updos

The Valor's Chief Stew gives us a lesson in yacht hair 101.

This Is How Below Deck's Kate Chastain Does Those Amazing Updos

Whenever we watch Below Deck, we have SO many questions: How rich do you have to be to drop hundreds of thousands of dollars to charter a yacht? Exactly how heavy is the dreaded inflatable slide? How on earth do two people live in those tiny crew rooms without killing each other? And, above all else, how does Kate Chastain do those incredible updos?

How to Watch

Watch Below Deck on Peacock and the Bravo App.

To say the Valor Chief Stewardess' hairstyle is a statement piece is, well, an understatement. Neither sea winds nor carrying trays full of martinis can shake the force that is Kate's voluminous, perfectly-styled chignon creations. The twisty-turny styles have become a signature look for the Queen of Yachting and we are so here for it. The only question: Kate, can you show us how you do it?!

It seems our prayers have somehow reached the Valor because the veteran yachtee decided to stop by Bravo HQ to give us at Most Wanted a much-needed lesson in updo 101. Watch the video above to see exactly what goes into these one-of-a-kind buns, and shop all the supplies needed (and yes, Kate is very particular about the supplies) below!

Aqua Net Hairspray

Around since the late '50s, the OG hairspray keeps your tresses locked in place like nothing else, swears Kate. She suggests being extra liberal with the application, which you can totally swing considering it's only $2.79 a can.

Bobby Pins

Though Kate doesn't recommend any particular brand of Bobby pins, we at Most Wanted can attest to Scünci's ability to keep your hair exactly where you want it. Plus, these come in a cool resealable container — so if you're, say, packing for a yacht trip, they're ready for travel.

Pen

Don't be fooled: this final step is not just for the chief stews of the world. Whether you work in a restaurant or in an office, having a pen handy at all times is never a bad thing. And if you ever need a moment to catch someone off guard, well, Kate has a trick for using your pen to do just that in the video above.
