Andy Cohen Says the Fourth Wall Will Continue to Be Broken on RHOC Season 17
After Shannon Storms Beador chatted with RHOC producers about being “mic’d” on Episode 8, Andy revealed there are similar moments to come.
Season 17 of The Real Housewives of Orange County is about to get even juicier, according to Andy Cohen.
For context, on Episode 8 of RHOC Season 17, castmates Shannon Storms Beador and Tamra Judge went out for drinks with fellow Tres Amigas member and show alum Vicki Gunvalson.
When Tamra brought up something Heather Dubrow had shared about Shannon’s relationship with then-boyfriend John Janssen, Shannon asked to speak to the producers. She then told the crew members that her romance with the businessman would be “destroy[ed]” if the rumors were discussed on camera.
The episode concluded before viewers could find out the nature of the rumor Shannon was worried about, but on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, he noted that the fourth wall will be broken a few more times before Season 17 ends.
Andy Cohen teases the rest of RHOC Season 17
On the July 26 episode of WWHL, the host revealed that Shannon will chat with the producers again about her relationship as Season 17 continues.
Reflecting on how Shannon “broke the fourth wall to confront the crew,” Andy added, “And by the way, she does it again — maybe two more times this season.”
“She does it a lot,” said RHOC cast member Emily Simpson, who was a guest on the WWHL episode.
Why Shannon Storms Beador Broke the Fourth Wall on RHOC
During the aforementioned Tres Amigas reunion, Tamra asked Shannon if she confided in Heather at all. Shannon said she did, and expressed that she believed her friend had “evolved” and wouldn’t repeat anything she’d said in confidence.
When Tamra made a motion suggesting that Heather had repeated things Shannon told her, Shannon pleaded with her longtime pal.
“Don’t bring it up,” she said, but she had a stronger reaction shortly thereafter.
“Wait, are you kidding me right now?” she added as she started to get up from the table. “Tamra, you can’t do that to me right now. I’m mic’d. So I’ll tell you in a minute.”
Shannon walked over to another table at the restaurant, where the RHOC crew members were sitting.
“I am not gonna air a relationship. That’s gonna destroy us if that comes on the air,” Shannon said about how the gossip might affect John. “So [if] they’re gonna start talking about my relationship, that’s not OK.”
Tamra visited Shannon at the producers’ table, and Shannon asked if the rumors she was going to bring up involved John. Tamra said yes.
“Wow… I’m done,” Shannon added. “This is gonna destroy everything. We’re done. My relationship is over if this is on the air.”
After filming wrapped on Season 17, Shannon and John did break up — but it remains to be seen if these rumors played a role in the demise of their relationship.
Viewers will have to stay tuned to RHOC Season 17 to find out what happens next, and to see the other fourth wall–breaking moments Andy teased.
