Lala Kent Reveals if She and James Kennedy Are Still "Close" Friends

Lala Kent and James Kennedy immediately hit it off when the Utah native joined Vanderpump Rules during Season 4. The pair went on to become the flirtiest of friends — "friends that make out," as Lala put it at the time — and eventually musical collaborators, too.
As the years passed, Lala and James remained pals even when they got into serious relationships with other people (albeit, not without a few hiccups along the way). So, are they close today? Lala answered this exact question during the February 5 episode of her podcast, Give Them Lala.

Are Lala Kent and James Kennedy close friends?
In short, yes, Lala and James' friendship is still going strong. As she put it on her podcast, "I would say yes, we're close."
More specifically, they're as close as they can be given their busy schedules. "Here's the thing: This isn't like Season 4, 5, 6 anymore — like, we all legitimately have to go out and and figure out how to pay for these lifestyles that we are creating, right? So, he's never in LA. That guy DJs giant venues all the time," Lala explained. "I'm so proud of him. Like, thousands of people, the production on his DJ gigs now, is, like, mindblowing. He's really busy; I'm really busy, so we're as close as we could possibly be with where we're at in our lives. I don't see anybody the way that I would like to see them."
That's not all she shared, though. Looking back at the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 premiere screening and cocktail party on January 17, Lala said that her and James' moms "really hit it off" there.
"They had never met, and so James and I are going to plan, like, a mommy and son and daughter and Ally [Lewber] little lunch thing," she revealed.

Speaking of Ally, yes, she supports James' friendship with Lala. She said as much during a panel featuring famous Bravoleb couples at BravoCon 2023, admitting that while she was a little apprehensive of the pair's bond at first, she now understands them and how they work.
“I think I was nervous going into it,” Ally revealed. “But then when I met her she was really amazing. And she’s been like a big sister to me, and I really love her and appreciate her and respect her a lot.”
“I feel like at first I was a little hesitant, but now I love her,” she added. “And I tell her all the time, I’m like, she’s literally James in a girl form. And I love James, so I love her too.”
