Then, in late summer 2023, it all came crashing down when they called off the wedding.
Scroll to take a look back on the first couple of the Hamptons' relationship through the years.
Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard were just friends when Summer House premiered
When the show first premiered in 2017, Carl was hooking up with original cast member Lauren Wirkus. Lindsay, for her part, was dating Everett Weston — and talking about marriage.
"The problem that I notice about Lindsay is that she goes in hard, right? Like, she meets a guy and that moves too fast and for me, I get scared, like what will happen if this doesn't end well?" Ashley Wirkus shared during Season 1 Episode 1.
Their separate relationships continued on and off through Season 2, as Lindsay and Carl became better and better friends.
Lindsay Hubbard gave Carl Radke relationship advice on Paige DeSorbo
In Season 3 of Summer House, Lindsay talked Carl through his dramatic situationship with Paige DeSorbo.
"I'm literally the best guy she'll ever meet in her entire life," the Loverboy co-founder said about Paige to a stunned Lindsay in Episode 8.
Her response? "Put her on ice" and "Just move the f-ck on."

Carl then thanked Lindsay for her advice.
"You're basically my sister... that I want to have sex with," he said.
When did Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke's relationship take a turn?
During Season 4, Episode 1 and 2 of Summer House — which was filmed in 2019 — Lindsay and Carl revealed that their relationship had become intimate.
"How many jokes can we make about Lindsay and Carl fingering?" Amanda Batula said at the dinner table while the pair discussed their relationship around the corner. "Do you know why they decided to keep it a secret?" Hannah Berner asked.
After Carl told Lindsay how much he cared for her and that he loved her, she asked what he meant by his confession.
"I want to be in your life as much as I can, and that's it. I'm not worried about anything else. We're best friends," he said, offering her a kiss on each cheek to seal the deal.
In a confessional interview, Lindsay opened up about her worries.
"I know Carl likes me and, honestly, I like him too, but he's my best friend. If it doesn't work out it could alter our friendship forever," she said. "I don't really know what to do.".
Later in Episode 2, Carl shared his feelings for Lindsay in a conversation with Hannah and Luke Gulbranson, noting that he felt like the best version of himself with his BFF.
"With Lindsay, I am like, 100% Carl," he said. "I haven't been like that. But at the same time, I don't want to be rejected."
When did Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke go on their first date?
In Episode 3 of Season 4, Lindsay and Carl decided to see how their romantic feelings would fare on an actual date.
"They always say you should date your best friend, but I'll be honest. I'm very very nervous. I don't want to mess it up," said Carl in a confessional.
For the big event, Carl surprised Lindsay with a rooftop "situation" involving sushi and wine. While drinking Fireball shots, they discussed their favorite sex positions, thoughts on settling down, and commitment issues. Soon enough, things got heated and they eventually decided they'd just stay friends.
"Easily the worst date I have ever had," Carl said in a confessional after Lindsay stormed off.
When fans came at Carl for his behavior during the season, Lindsay took to Instagram to defend him.
"Unfortunately going into it, Carl didn’t exactly understand that I’m not dating just to date at this point in my life (even if he is my best friend), or that he wasn’t quite ready for the level of commitment I need in a relationship. Our expectations were not aligned, which is where it all went wrong," she wrote in March 2020. "Trust me, he knows, and I made it very clear to him back in July as you are seeing now. I held him accountable then and he holds himself accountable now."
"Carl is growing, albeit slowly, but he’s getting there," she added. "He watched the episode and called me saying, 'I’m sorry Hubb House. Watching this back, I realize I was wrong, and it’s hard to watch.'"
Lindsay Hubbard fell for Carl Radke on "prom night"
During Season 6 Episode 14 of Summer House (which filmed in Summer 2021), the cast threw a prom-themed party. Later, Lindsay revealed that her feelings for Carl began to develop that night.
"[Carl] was so handsome...so sweet...so thoughtful...he had me cracking up ALL day," she wrote in an April 2022 Instagram story. "And we truly didn't leave each other's side that day...my heart was beating faster, and something just felt different...We didn't slow dance that night, but he put me on his shoulders (which is basically the Summer House version of slow dancing)."
When did Lindsay Hubbard admit she had feelings for Carl Radke (again)?
While attending Amanda and Kyle Cooke's wedding in September 2021, Lindsay told Carl she had feelings for him. The confession was broadcast during the Summer House Season 6 reunion.
"I'm kind of like, developing feelings for you that are stronger than friendship. I don't know if I'm alone in this or what's going on," she told Carl, who responded accordingly.
"Listen, we have an incredible friendship and connection," he said. "I will agree, like, the last couple of weeks I definitely look at you like... possibly dating at some point is scary, right?"
The besties decided to take things one step at a time.

"I would like to start by saying thank you for allowing me the space and time to process my emotions, heal, and grieve the loss of not only my relationship, but my friendship with someone I considered my best friend for 8 years," Lindsay wrote via Instagram. "The last 2 weeks have been the most heartbreaking and emotional weeks of my life. My entire life and future was ripped out from underneath me and I’ve had a hard time making sense of it all - with no answers or closure on why. I feel humiliated by how it went down, and simultaneously heartbroken that it happened in the first place. My trust has been betrayed, and coming to terms with that has been difficult for me."
Her note continued on another slide.
"This was not my decision, and I do not agree with quitting a relationship (at this level) without trying everything possible first. I have spent the last couple of weeks finding my own closure and peace," she added. "I am forever grateful to my best friends who have not left my side, and have been picking up the pieces of my heart and life every day from the fallout. I am still grieving and trying to process all that has happened, but I felt it was important to update you all. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for the love and support from my friends, family, cast mates, and all of you for carrying me through."
Lindsay Hubbard opened up about the split with Carl Radke
In an interview with Us Weekly published on November 1, Lindsay detailed the weeks after the end of her relationship with Carl.
“I was completely blindsided,” she said. “He blew up my entire life. I was crying, I was angry, and I had to find closure on my own. Now I’m at a place where I feel really good about moving on.”
"That’s the hardest part of it all," she added in response to a question about losing their friendship. "And even now, if I have feelings that pop up in my mind or heart, it’s more that I lost my best friend than my fiancé."
The two are no longer on speaking terms, she added. "Right now, the only time we speak is through text and it’s when he needs to come to the apartment or when I’m traveling.”
When asked if she was still open to love, she was unequivocal: "Yes. I will never give up on love. I have a very big heart; I’m not going to shut myself off from somebody else who would appreciate it."

I don’t know how my emotions are gonna to react in that moment. I don’t if I’m gonna get emotional. I don’t know if I’m going to, you know, feel any certain ways or be sad or angry.”
At the panel, both admitted to some trepidation about being there.
Carl said he was “nervous” but “grateful” to be at the event, which he called “emotional.”
Lindsay said admitted she was “really nervous” and “shaking” in her seat.
“This is the first time I’m seeing Carl,” she added. “We don’t really speak unless he has to get into the apartment to get some stuff. That’s really it.”

"Since I’ve had the new foundation, it’s been incredibly positive for me," he added. "But, yeah, there’s still some closure and things I feel like are gonna need to be figured out at some point, but I’m just going one day at a time and just trying to take care of myself.”
