We Have a *Spicy* Update on Chris Bassett's Career: Details

The Real Housewives of Potomac's Candiace Dillard Bassett is cheering on her husband's latest venture.

By Cynthia Robinson

We first got to know Chris Bassett during Season 3 of The Real Housewives of Potomac as a chef and a supportive "susband" (aka soon-to-be husband, in Candiace Dillard Bassett-speak) of the then-RHOP newbie.

Following the couple's wedding in 2018, Chris is still a supportive, well, now husband, and Candiace remains a supportive wife to Chris, who has continued to grow his career in the food and hospitality industry. Over the years, we've caught up with Chris as he's worked as a restaurant co-owner, cooking class teacher, and personal chef (more on that in a bit), but now, the entrepreneur has something else on the menu.

Chris Bassett launched a new spice line

On the March 3 episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Chris joined his wife, along with WWHL guest Cynthia Bailey, as he worked the bar in the Clubhouse.

During the After Show, in the clip you can watch above, Chris triumphantly revealed he started his own "spice line," called Bassett's Blends, gifting host Andy Cohen a slew of spices from the new venture.

In a large jar filled with different spices, Chris and Candiace noted that included in the mix were "hot" spices and seasonings, to give any dish that special kick. "Oh, this is really cool!" Andy exclaimed about the new venture, as Candiace adorably cheered and clapped for her husband.

Chris then directed viewers to his website to get a taste of the new spices, which we can see include an "All Purpose Seasoning" and an "All Purpose HOT Seasoning."

What does Chris Bassett do for a living?

In addition to his new spice line and putting his expertise to work in catering and private cooking classes, Chris released first e-book cookbook, "A Few of My Favorite Things," in April 2023, featuring 12 of his favorite recipes.

Additionally, in a 2021 interview with The Daily Dish, Chris also noted his love of sauces.

"Like, I'll make a sauce out of anything, because I think the sauce is what really brings the meal together. You can have your protein and your vegetables and your starch, and they're all great on their own, but the sauce is what ties everything together, right?" he said the 2021 interview. "The sauce goes on the protein, but then maybe a little drips into the mashed potatoes, and then you're at the end of your meal using your vegetables to wipe the rest of it on the plate. Sauce! I love sauce."

Could we be expecting a sauce line soon from the Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef? We'll have to stay tuned!
